Lexus ain't too shaby after all...........

After washing and putting on a coat of Wax on my BMW (took about 3.5hrs....) I decided to run some errands by driving my wife's RX350 (which I hardly drive at all, but only on long road trips....)...........what I noticed is that the Lexus is not bad at all...........its ride is really soft (like floating on air) and the total opposite of a BMW; however, I was really relaxed and at ease while driving it............well, I feel like I have the best of both world, one with performance and handling and the other for the ralaxation factor.........

Totally understand what you mean! The BMW sporty and stiff handling can be intimidating after a while in parkings lots etc. I had a chance to drive a Kia crossover today (not as lucky as you I know). and I was surprised that the drive was so soft and relaxing. Its like taking a break from a sports car!

Should have seen me driving a KIA spectra rental - I usually rent G35, 350z and 328i but this is free - I basically turn the steering and hope the car would go in that direction. It was great fun, I ran over speed bumps like little pebbles on the road. I thought I would entertain myself by stopping by santa monica and ask one of those actress/model aspiring girls for a lift.

I couldn't agree with you more. I drive the 335 and my wife drives an RX350. The RX350 has an amazing ride. It really does feel like you're floating, but at the same time the steering is surprisingly precise. I guess there's a reason why it's the #1 selling luxury SUV...

My wife use to have the Rx330 that is until she drove my car (e90 335) one time. Now she drives a 530 sport package.

I drive my mothers jaguar s-type when it rains, or on nights that Im going to have to park my car outside of a friends house (to avoid the thick build up of dew and moisture on my car, that accumulates and drips all over the place when driving home, almost like getting rained on....cant stand that, since I work so hard to keep my car clean). And yes, it is nice to take a break from the harsh ride of my car. That thing is really floaty and soft too. Its GREAT for freeway driving and all, but around town....i still prefer my car.

Lexus cars are supposed to ride very soft and smooth- I almost fell asleep in an ES350 one time.

Sometimes she does, but rarely. She calls the 335 my "race car" I think she prefers to be pampered over speed. Good thing too, she's got a lead foot

+5, driving an lexus or acura rl around is always a complete 180 for me. It's the most stressless, relaxing thing in the world. It instantly cures road rage... granted, it doesn't help my fall-asleep-behind-the-wheel syndrome

I have had several Bimmers, a Merc, a Mini, an Infinity. My wife has driven Lexus for the last 12 years. I finally gave in and followed her advice and picked up a GS. I receive way more compliments on its ride than I have on any of my other cars. Friends and family visit from out of town and I let them drive my car and again the amount of overwhelming positive feedback blows me away. It is a perfect "average" car. Beautifully smooth ride, nice acceleration and handles okay.

Too soft for me though. As soon as the lease expires, back to BMW - M3 is calling strong.
