For those saying it's a cop-out to put a slush box in the car - remember, it's a business decision to sell as many cars as they can. If this car doesn't sell well, then there will be no replacement for it. Also, this car has over 600hp and 600 ft lbs of torque. You need to remember GM has to warranty this car as well. Designing a dual-clutch trans that will handle all that power and not blow-up over the course of 60K miles will be expensive.
It's got 5 clutches and 4 gearsets.

I agree and to add.

Not selling a manual is a cop out.
Adding the auto is just smart.

I don't see how anyone can complain about this thing. It is incredible!!!

This car looks angry. I'm looking forward in seeing it in a matte black or matte charcoal.

I'll take one in white please.

Incredible.

I don't like slush boxes, but I understand why as a whole the industry is going that way.

7:20, 7:15 'Ring time coming up.

Yeah the old ZR1 ran a 7:19. I think this will be faster. If it can beat the Nismo GTR I will have to sell my first born so I can own one.

One of the most idiotic statements I've read in a while.

If ever the M3 was a GT car, it certainly is so, in spades, with the new M4. These cars are not direct competitors. Nobody in their right mind would daily drive a Z06. An M3 serves as a DD for many more than those that have it as a weekend car. I am in no way knocking the Vette (I've owned three C6 versioned Vettes including a Z06). IMO it (an M3) is one of the best combos of luxury, performance and utility of any car out there under $75K.

The new M4 will not be an $85K car.

There are just those that just prefer German engineering, or Japanese engineering, or British. Then there are those that just prefer American. Got nothing to do with the badge.

The LT4 has 3 modes:

V8 with boost
V8 without boost
V4 without boost

I wonder how much power it makes without boost and wondering what the fuel economy this thing will squeeze out.....

C6 ZR1 is around 120k, so the new Z06 is going to be at least the same price as ZR1 was but most likely a little more.

Exactly! You're getting a Zr1 that is rebadged as a Z06, so the price will be comparable to Zr1 pricing with a slight increase.
The car & driver video on here says at the end. Fully optioned C7 Z06 is less than $100k. So it is quite a bit less than the outgoing ZR1.

The new Z06 will have 3 aero (downforce) packages. I am sure the stage 3 aero is pricey. So base price proably upper $80k range.

I am cross shopping the M4 and new Z06. I have a 4Runner I use to a daily, and I suspect most people who will buy this car will have a daily too. Yes the M3/4 has four seats, but ask how many M3 coupe owners use those. The 3 years I owned my M3 I had zero passengers ever sit back there. I also suspect that since my last M3 rang in close to $70k, you add some inflation and the carbon ceramic brakes you're a hair shy of $85k. I also can tell you, I cross shopped the C6 Z06 with the M3 too. I really liked the Z06 but I couldn't bear myself to pay that much for a Chevy, so yes I badge whored out. But the appeal of new Z06 just can't be denied!!! I really want one!
