Just got this done today, took about an hour! Didn't need to pull the airbag either.

Thought I would update the thread, it had some dead links because i moved some pictures around.

After a year, the wrap is holding perfect:

Nice, looking good.

Here's mine that I redid recently after you inspired me to try this mod. Heat gun made the 2nd time immensely easier and came out really nice.

Shredicus, any futher away pictures? I just want to see if it's "too much" of the carbon trim. My soft touch surface is starting to deteriorate so I'm looking at options. Another route I was thinking of taking was paint matching it to Space grey, but nothing else is SG in my car, lol

PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD SHUT THE HELL UP.

first off, let us agree that as much as we love our M cars the interior leather and trim on these cars are terrible, and maybe if BMW had done a really good Job on the interior people would not need to redo a lot of these interior trims DIY.

the cover made and shown here is probably better than the one the car came with as this is an area known to peel in a really ugly way.
Who cars what people think......Do you live your life always thinking about what people think without any consideration about your own thoughts?

As for me, i will be redoing this, the shift boot and center console on my own car with better leather than the one the car came with......

People can do whatever they want

I did this mod this weekend, you need patience. Works easier with a heat gun. Results are fantastic though. Totally matches the stock interior.

Yeah colormatched would probably look a bit out of place. The CF doesnt look overdone and cheesey at all. If I didnt point it out nobody but another M3 driver would guess it wasnt OEM. I'll have the car back thursday so I'll take another pic from farther back.

Anyways, I might consider doing this sometime this summer though. Has anyone wrapped any other parts of the trim? I currently have the silver/aluminum trim & I'm thinking of maybe wrapping it all in this CF instead of buying the OEM trim.

Make sure your weave direction is consistent. I beg you!

did you have to remove all of the old peeling rubber before wrapping or did you just wrap over it?
