I'd be wary of replacement cost though. Manufacturing is one thing, but what happens when Little Johnny bumps his 328i, breaking one of those precious CF parts? Up til now CF requires special techs to handle repairs

I hope I am not too early to think about this:

Can this carbon fiber be recycled economically? Like steel and aluminum of today?

It's easier to recycle something economically when it's much more expensive in the first place. Even with these reductions CF will still cost twice as much as steel, so there's probably room for movement.

I am too but only for the technology it will have/bring to the premium/luxury segment. But I very skeptical as to how competitive it will be with the S-Class if we're solely judging on what a car SHOULD be at this price point/segment.
