I'm afraid I'm putting in my two weeks notice. Here's my letter of resignation. Thank you for the opportunity to work for you.

What I'm saying is that unless your boss is violate law or company policy, you're probably screwed.

^ This!! Just walk away without burning bridges.... If the boss values you and your contributions to the company/firm he will ask why and perhaps then you can bring up the issues. If the boss is a tool and the root of the problem then you likely have no leverage to make the situation better and it's time to move on.

Need some context; define being a bitch. Getting coffee for your boss? Getting fucked (literally) by your boss?

If that is your superior's attitude, you have no room to negotiate. Give two weeks and that might make the boss rethink his/her stance if they realize that they need you as much as you need them. Having spent extended time in a job that makes you unhappy, life is too short to put up with the BS.

Having said that, you might need to weather the storm for a while and sock some money away for living expenses if you don't already have some emergency funds set aside.

Go make more money elsewhere, buy a better car than whatever he owns.

Make sure you know when he goes to lunch, when you see him, tip your cap, and do a burn out as you leave.

People automatically become resistant when told "no". In essence, I'd find a way to illustrate to your boss that you could be more productive doing what you really should be doing. In other words, give them an alternative instead of telling them no.

In my line of work, I'd explain to my boss that I could be billing hours to clients instead of the bitch ass shit he wants me to do, which would in all likelihood work since his bonus is based off the # of hours his people bill.

Quitting is just running away from the problem, it doesnt make the problem itself go away. That's the lazy man's answer.

It would be a real shame if your boss fell down a flight of stairs, or had brake problems with his car, or maybe ingested something very toxic by mistake.

Just sayin', it's a dangerous world out there. Accidents happen.

Are you sure you aren't just being told to do your job?

Is this your first 'real' job?

Without more info I don't think the OT can properly diagnose and advise.

IS it your job? Is it what you signed up for? Are you the IT guy being asked to wash his balls or are you his ball washer bitching about having to wash his balls?

My thoughts exactly... I run into this a lot actually. Have fired a couple people recently over it. If it is in your job description (even in the fine print) and you are being told to do it, suck it up and do it.

In most cases, if whatever your boss is telling you to do isn't immoral, illegal, or unethical, then you're probably going to lose this battle.

Spot on. I was giving the OP the benefit of the doubt but your last sentence pretty much sums it up...

It's my job. I've done it many times in different places but this has been the dream place. Now that I'm here I feel that it's not what I signed up for.
