M Coupe Rear Badge

Below is the wallpaper of my computer. I was staring into space at this (it's been a long week) and realized that something seemed off.. The badge is on the left instead of the right. Googled a bunch of M Coupes, all had badge on the left, compared to the M3, M5, M6, etc, which have them on the right.. Z3 M Coupe was on the right... Wonder why they switched for the Z4M Coupe.. Anyone??

That's all, just curious.. Couldn't find anything in google..

Do you have this car as a Daily Driver, or weekend car?

I could see this as my next (the coupe).. I sat in one the other day at the dealership for 45 minutes or so, walked around it for about 20 minutes or so. It is perfect IMO.. How do you like it? (I'm guessing this is a rhetorical question)

Looking at the picture of your roadster, it has the key slot on the right. Maybe that was put there since more people are right handed, and then the badge ended up on the other side.. That would make sense to me.. Keyhole must be photoshopped out of the coupe picture I have above..

Weekend car,
But recently its turned into a "every other" weekend car, possibly a once a month car lol.,
The car is outstanding, I test drove this and the coupe and decided I like my cars like my women,
Small and topless

No thats not a chop of the keyhole,
I know the roundel is how you open the coupe's hatch

Nice. Like the M6..

So maybe they put it on the left to be consistent with the roadster?

If you feel it's being neglected and someone should take it out on those other weekends, let me know..

I think I'm going to go with the theory that came out in this thread. On the roadster, they put the M badge on the left to counter the key knob on the right. They left it on the left on the coupe as well to be consistent. Now the other question (which can be answered by Starscream) is why they didn't do the same push on the roundel to open the trunk gig like they did on the coupe. I'm guessing that's a packaging issue with the convertible top, so they opted for a normal keyhole?

That, or the designer had a lot of beers that night and simply said, "Fuck it, let's put it on the left for the hell of it.."

Well because the Z4 is part of the Z series of cars,
The Z3, Z4 and Z8

Just like the X5 is part of the "wait for it" X series of vehicles
X3 X5 and X6

So what if BMW M division make an M version of the X3?
Should they call it a M3?

The roadster was designed and built years before the coupe was,
Where the M badge is on my car the "Z4" appears on all the other Z4's, most logical explanation is the keyhole,
I think the opening of the trunk lid with the roundel was a newer idea and rather then re-tool the roadster it was given to the coupe,

Don't get me wrong Id like to have that feature on mine, I think its cool

I just did, Obviously I don't know if I'm correct thats what I "think" would be logical,

Could be that they plainly couldn't be bothered but we all wouldn't like to think that of BMW lol

Indeed, as mentioned I think this is the last year as the S54 Engine won't meet 2009 emissions regulations,

so Chop Chop!
