Vision of toyota: In a few years we will offer a Toyota 335i hybrid diesel; which under light loads will run off batteries for the first 60 miles.

Unless the accelerator sticks, in which case you get to experience twin turbo inline 6 power at autobahn speeds on your way to pick up the kids, in a school zone; whether you want to or not.

Yes you are quite right, BMW (Germany) may have something to gain.

I realized though that Im thinking of this from a US perspective, and in that sense, the US has nothing to gain by the Japanese selling even more cars in the US than they already do.
