^ Agree. Coming from a medical background, I stay away from almost all supplements. I take protein shakes, but try to not over do those as well because a diet extremely high in protein puts more stress on your kidneys (Many debate this fact, but I tend to stick with a relatively high protein diet, which a good mix of fruits/vegetables and whole wheats). Anything that claims to increase or maintain higher levels of hormones scares me because hormones can affect your body's function in so many ways. Just my opinion though.

Animal Stak is overpriced multi vitamins. Buy them only if you like pissing money away. The main ingredient in animal stak that is marketed as being able to increase test levels is tribulus terrestis, which is completely bunk for anyone with normal hormone levels. There is not a single ingredient in Animal Stak products that is worth taking that you cant get in a cheap multivitamin.

The way they spell 'stack' without a 'c' is also indescribably obnoxious.

everyone's diet consists of protein, carbs, and fats. what else would it consist of? (we're ignoring alcohol as a macronutrient here)

first, the term 'heavy' is relative, and 8-10 reps is pretty much never considered as such. Second, the 8-10 rep range is not an optimal range to be lifting in if size your goal.

I use Animal Pak and I love it! It makes me eat just about everything in sight, almost as if I had the munchies (not quite tho)

If you're trying to gain weight, first find out your body fat %. Say you weigh 160 lbs and you have 10% bodyfat, that's 144lb of lean body mass. Now multiply that lean body mass by 18. So 144 x 18 is about 2600. That's how many calories you should be consuming daily to bulk up.

I break down my calories this way: 50% of calories come from carbs, 30% from protein and 20% from fats.

If you have a higher bodyfat %, you should probably do 40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat.

You gotta eat the right type of carbs, proteins and fats. You gotta also weigh and measure all your food. Trust me man, no supplement is going to do the trick by itself. Food alone will turn you into an animal in the gym. My bench shot up from 225lbs one rep max to 315lbs in two weeks just by eating better. And I was stalled at 225lbs for a good 4 months!

And lastly, to build lean mass, you have to lift HEAVY. That means you should pick up a weight that you struggle to do 8-10 reps. But don't forget to use the proper forms for the exercises you're doing. You don't want to swing your body around or bang out your reps real fast. You gotta do them nice and slow with proper form.
You're an idiot.

I work at vitamin world and animal pak is some serious stuff. It works well as long as you take it correctly, eat well, and stay hydrated with lots of water.

What is your main goal? Cut weight? Lean up? Etc..

bulk up just a bit. i'm 6'0 exactly and weigh around 160. goal is to get to 180 at least. i keep eating but nothing seems to be working. i cant complain much though because back in october (before i started going to the gym), i was around 145-150lbs.

i already drink tons of water since my creatine recommends it. i can improve on the eat well part.

We'll, I'd recommend trying a protein like Muscle Milk because it has plenty of protein, fat, and carbs which will help you put on weight a little quicker. 2 of those a day with milk and a healthy diet with good fats and carbs.

Also, be sure that you’re taking a daily multi vitamin and you might want to include fish oil and calcium pills to your daily supplement intake.

I wouldn't start on animal pak just yet, I would try to add 5-10 pounds before taking animal pak so you're body can be prepared for all the supplements included in animal pak. Also, I hope you don't mind rather large pills There are some serious sized pills in animal pak

thanks for the feedback. right now for protein im taking the BSN True Mass at least once a day with whole milk. i'll try and bump it up to 2 a day but i heard too much protein is bad.

for multi-vitamin, i'm taking the GNC mega men sport. hopefully i can put on 5-10 more pounds
