Wink After 03/08 Production's 335i can't compare to new M3 NO MORE!

Since the 135i/335i's new DME/ECU been installed, you can't reflash/piggyback with your new 135i/335i anymore. Unless you want to get caught and void your warrenty. So there is no "I can mod my car to be as fast as M3" or "335i will smoke a M3 with just a piggyback". At least for now, I can have some peace and quiet from the new 335i owners.

I didn't even know about this, if it's true then maybe the the resale value of my 335 will be a bit better.

Don't forget about those 2 years of 335i's w/o the new DME. Also don't get your hopes up too much, there will be a workaround shortly. There is a way around everything...

Don't be too smug ///M owners, if BMW is indeed cracking down on ECU mods for emissions reasons, this will affect all BMW cars. So if you want to mod your M3 with stuff like rev limiter changes, O2 sensor ignore for headers, delimit speed govenors, cams....forget it too.

We are all in the same boat....

Bro....sorry to break your bubble but, the software is going to be unlocked sometime or the other. In simple words, dont get your hopes up. My prediction, someone will find a solution of breaking into the ecu and hiding the piggyback pretty soon.

On a sidenote, enjoy your M3. Most 335i owners who know that they can smoke an M3, will give up their car for yours in a heartbeat if they had a choice. Afterall, M3 is an M3....top of the 3 series food chain

All jokes aside, if it really turns out that the car can't be tuned anymore, my car's going to be worth a lot of money, 335i sales will drop by up to 20%, and 135i sales will drop by 30%. And i'll laugh straight to the bank with v3 or helix.

Wow, how insecure is someone about their purchase when they create a thread to state the obvious? For now.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there are still thousands of 335s in the U.S. you will be seeing the taillights of.

AcAvenger- If no one can come up with a resolution for the new DME, then I think you're right. Our cars values will go up.

Can you answer what is "the obvious"? and is there "thousands of 335s" that is mod w/piggback??
Like I said, the new 335i owners can't mod their DME. I knew the old ones with vishnu or dinan still won't shut up about it
This is the reason why I started this thread to tell all the up coming 335i owners that they can't mod their car that easy anymore. THE END!

+1, I still have respect for the M3.. But I don't know if I would be willing to pay that much... I'd be tempted to go for the GTR.

Apparently, however, we can't have some peace and quite from you. You can't spell. Your grammar sucks. You've created a spiteful thread in a general 3 series forum when there is an entire M3 section and now expect exactly what? It really seems as though you are trying to compensate for some perceived inadequacy (whether real or not, perception is sufficient) by taunting new and expectant owners. Are you 5?

His M3 is better no matter what you do to your 335...
Put whatever Vishny you want (may be faster straight line, but that is it), it will never be the M3, the end
