Sorry, had to troll a little bit OP: send me the vin of the car you're considering and I'll see if the history looks clean. High mileage cars are fine, but good idea to have the bearings checked and know that throttle actuators and other common gremlins will surface if there was no prior replacement. Plugs are definitely something that should be done every 35k max. Personally I think 30 is a bit high for an 09 with 118k, but 27ish sounds reasonable. At least the car will have the newer iDrive which is a must.

I drove a NISMO it was really sweet, it was just so bare bones for 42k, seats were cloth, no NAV, really nothing in fact. In a way I liked the simplicity and that's part of the reason for it probably being so reliable. However, its not really the best from performance stand point either. Quarter mile in the 13s and that's the NISMO. A bit better performance and I would have really consider it.I saw a 2014 with like 5k miles for low 30s....steal deal. With all these bearing issues, I am actually thinking about it, save me about 10k on the trade in too.

to the OP i would of passed on it also. I feel the car is OP for the Mileage and Year. once you add in the fact of not having any service history, then its defiantely a premium asking price. i feel 25-26k would be more in line. I was car shopping June-early august (E90) and found a few E90M's in the 80-110K mile range with asking prices from 27k-30k. all of which didnt have the best history so i nicely moved on. I also feel that the E90M market is 2-4K> then E92M. Or at least in asking prices. I think that its about right too. |

To the OP- that's pretty overpriced for those miles.
I don't post here too often, but I've been a member on M5Board for 6 yrs as I came from M5's going back to an E28 M5. There's a good chance I'll be selling my 2008 E90 M3 6spd. Jerez on Bamboo . 19in MRR GF07's on fairly new Hankook EVO V12's + 18in OEM Titanium 220's w/ new Hankook's. Just turned 73,000 miles. I'm the 3rd owner, previous BMW CPO car. Never touched the auction. Tons of maintenance, including the new battery ,OEM, dealer installed and registered. Recent oil change. In the last 3 yrs, things like idle control valve, new spark plugs, AC service and a few other things were done at both Keeler BMW and Capital Cities BMW in upstate NY. This car was only serviced by dealers. It's loaded option wise..iDrive, Cornering lights, Comfort Access. PM me if you want more details. I was thinking of listing it for about $31,500for a quick sale.My M3 is plug n play ready to go, no stories. Working a deal on a 2013 550i.

Because a totally new design (and much more complicated engine) definitely won't have any problems...

I recently bought a used 2012 E92 M3 for $55,000 from BMW of Monrovia. It had 24k miles on it. So looking at the milage of the car you are looking at, I honestly do not think it is worth it. I have seen 08 M3 for $34,000 with only 50k miles on it too.

The 370z is a great car but back seats are a must and the interior is one of my favorites of the m3s. It's an everyday sports car where I feel the 370z is a weekend toy. Looking at the car fax the car did go to the auction right after the lease ended because of the mileage.
