Discount dealership parts in USA

Being the owner of an out-of-warranty Bimmer, I have been searching for OE or original parts The only part I Amazon'd was the Bosch wiper blades. After using FCP, ECS I have also found a bunch of dealers online that are actually dealerships running a side hustle offering discounted genuine parts, sometimes better than those sites. Although FCP and ECS offer lifetime guarantees on parts, there are times that someone would want to sell a car and can give a care less about lifetime replacement. And the one I primarily use won't charge shipping if you will-call pick it up, they're only 30 minutes away.

So my curiosity led me down this rabbit hole of finding all the USA based dealer side-hustle sites, perhaps one near you. They seem to use SimplePart and RevolutionParts as their platforms.

Hope this helps someone out. I'm sure someone is going to say "but we already knew this" and that's fine.

So, the least expensive I’ve found are www.bmwpartsworldwide.com and www.bmwpartshub.com and Parts Hub has free shipping >$500 right now and 50% off shipping <$500. I thought I had pretty much found them all, but you have a lot I didn’t find. Do you know if any of them do better than the two I listed? That’s a lot of websites to check. It would be nice to narrow it down.

For the most part I was just googling a random part number in quotes from a common part, like say a rotor to find these sites. As for prices for parts I had been looking for in the past, while they are higher at one place another has for a lower price, another part will be opposite. It's hard to say at this point.

I just resorted to using www.bmwpartsnow.com (Knauz BMW) because the associated dealership is so close.

Didn’t check the list but I generally use getbmwparts.com (BMW of Silver Spring). They also allow pickup for people that live close to them (I’m about 45 min away).

Wow!!! That’s a great find!! I didn’t know Knauz ran an online store. They are generally my preferred dealership. They have the M3 lip spoiler I just bought for my car for $15 less than BMW Parts Hub and $13 less than BMW Parts Worldwide. I just reproduced my whole order from BMW Parts Hub and Knauz was $25 less. They were less on every single thing I bought. The saving grace for me was that BMW Parts Hub didn’t charge me sales tax, so I saved money over what I would have paid Knauz including tax. But, I will definitely keep this for future reference!

I’m going to be replacing my front bumper and I spoke with a body shop guy at Knauz about Orland Park’s website and good prices and apparently he didn’t know Knauz had their own website with even better prices. Knauz has the bumper for $14 less than Orland Park.

They are fairly good on prices, but they are not the best. It looks like Knauz’s BMW Parts Now may be the best.

I know some places are cheaper but being able to pickup my order at the dealer is worth the small price difference. Also my brother in-law is a BMW tech there and they allow him to pickup the parts too.

I’ll check out Knauz’s pricing if I’m having parts shipped to me.

Oh yeah. Not having to pay for shipping can make a big difference for sure!!

some of these sites do not charge tax to CA which is fantastic !

I have bought from braman, partshub and bmwpartsworldwide before tax free.

if some states, if the out-of-state merchant doesn't sell and ship more than $100,000 to your state, that merchant isn't required to collect sales tax at time of sale. So, if the out-of-state BMW dealer parts dept ships you a $2000 part, you will only have to report and pay the applicable sales tax next year. (wink, wink)

now that I think about it, do BMW dealer parts dept in states with no sales tax sell to walk-in customers from neighboring states?

Yes, that’s my plan exactly. I’m going to be sending a check for 10.25% of the purchase price of my order directly to Governor Pritzker this year.

I've already done my share by staying 30+ nights at Hyatt properties this year.

I thought it was Gov. Prickster. I guess I was wrong.
