I recently got the NOTE3 from insurance claim, and I love it. I use to have small phones, and this is my first large screen phones.
NOTE 4 would be on my future buylist.

All our local stores have them. If you had to order it I would say just a few days, I haven't heard of anyone with supply problems.

The single most important thing why it is so much better than ios...... because you can drag and drop files on it just like a flash drive. If I have 50 folders with certain music I just copy and paste to the sd card. With apple you have to deal with the IMHO crappy iTunes interface. You can also use your phone just as a mass storage device from any computer.
Don't get me wrong apple makes good products but he Number 1 thing that keeps myself and friends away from it is forcing me to use itunes

Agreed about ITunes!

I have my upgrade in about a week, think I could sweet-talk the AT&T sales representative to give it to me earlier then? I was going to go this weekend.

Go to a actual att store and not a satellite store. The manager will do it. I had one last time 2 months early and they did it.

My company is changing from Verizon to AT&T at the end of this month...

I'm hoping to get my hands on this...if it's available. Samsung Note Edge

So I went to AT&T store and rep basically said that my upgrade is on 11/7/14 and that I have to wait. However, he did state that I can come in on 11/1/14 and get the Note 4 at contract price of $299. I can wait a week.

i don't do the whole contract and wait thing. i find that annoying and i hate dealing with staff to see if i can have a phone or not.

surprisingly, used phones sell for a decent amount. for example, if i sell my note 3 this week, i would likely get about $400 for it. that's a pretty good discount on my next non-contract phone. it's like my own trade-in program.

So do you do AT&T Next or how do you not wait for contract upgrade?

Side note: it's hard to find a good case online for the Note 4.

Take the time and Compare MANY differences

I spend alot time as a hobby I admit it, comparing the Android technology Google, to the IOS Apple platform.

If one were to just take the time and do a side by side spec comparison of the IOS 6+ to the Samsung Note 4, one would wonder why would anybody buy an Iphone. There are 18796 android phone choices on the android system, talk about choices, IOS has about 7.

I compare the closed environment of IOS to Socialism, whereas the company tells you the who what when and where. Whereas Android is similar to Capitalism and your choices, are yours. IOS is like the Government telling you that it can run anything better than you can, and will make your choices for you.

Apple markets their product better than anything, but better marketing doesn't always make it better

After comparing the products side by side let we know your reasons you can tell me why it's better and not just a choice. Android let's you step out of the box, Apple keeps you in it. most of what Apple has just introduced, is old tech, i.e. NFC we've had that for 3 years. My prediction, merchants will start cancelling Apple Pay in droves, just to soon it won't work.

PS Buy the Samsung 50 dollar case from Samsung, most of the phone can be operated through the window under smart view. IOS doesnt have that either.

I agree with your statement except for Apple pay:

Even tho NFC has been here for sometime(Google Wallet), Apple pay is more important to people because of Apple's effective marketing obviously and how it's brainwashed people into thinking it's the best thing out there when it really isn't. However, I do think CVS and these other merchants might loose the battle against Apple pay because the consumer backlash might be too much. Time will tell.

I'm going this Saturday to get my Note 4 if I can find it in stock at the AT&T store. Wish me luck!

Well, here's to luck. For me, it doesn't look like the Edge will be release for another couple weeks (heard rumors of next week - but it's not looking good).

I just ordered the Note 4 myself - and if the Edge comes out in 14 days from that, I will be able to do a swap.

Haven't look into the 4 too much - I'm hoping that someone has rooted this thing already (and has the files for it).

The Edge Is Cool, but basically little or no app providers have written much software that will take advantage of that edge yet....so that part will have very little done in the field of capabilities as of first release. This Note 4 is the shit, nothing even comes close, just make sure you get the cover that is Samsung Authentic, not a knock off, un f-ing real.

With what I have discovered past few months with note 4, I real feel bad for iPhone 6 owners, I really do.

I had a Note 2 since 2012 and yesterday just picked up a Note 4.

BTW, there is a current trade-in promo where you can get $200 back from Samsung for trading in a POS phone worth at least $10, promo ends in 2 days, so hurry.

The Note 4 didn't blow me away. The only major upgrade going from a Note 2 to Note 4 to me is the screen resolution. IMO, the Note 4 is more of a "LCI" type upgrade from the Note 3. Whereas the Note 3 was a major jump from the Note 2 in features.

That said, if you can hold out, I would wait for next generation phones this time next year where you'll get 4k screens, wireless charging and other features.

IMHO, I think phone technology is hitting a ceiling (regarding features I care about), I can only see screen resolutions getting better and also updating to your carrier's latest LTE bands, but that's about it. I plan on using my Note 4 for 3 years at this point, as I'm future proofed on my current carrier's new LTE band rollout.

2 days? Crap I can't take advantage of it due to upgrade is on Saturday!

Well I'm going from iPhones to android first time user, so I'm assuming N4 should be THE upgrade I need.

read my comment above, IMO, you should wait for next generation, if you're the type (like me), who doesn't buy phones at MSRP and are okay with 1/2 or 1 generation old phones.

What carrier do you use? Does the Avalon integrate it's Bluetooth seamlessly?

you just need to do the transaction by end of month. You have up to December 1 to mail in the rebate form.

I traded in a POS Boost Mobile Kyrocera POS and they gave me $10 for it (which is the minimum trade in), and Samsung will cut me a check for $190 of the balance. Pretty sweet deal.

Who's your upcoming carrier?

Just compare note 3 to 4 not even 2 to 4, more pixels, more memory, better camera resolution, better operation system, better battery life, talk time, standby time, speed charging, and as far as wireless charging that's in a few weeks, speed charging, charges 50 % in half hour what else is there, and that's not an improvement from note 3 to 4?

AT&T

Thing is, my upgrade is Saturday, November 1st

Gonna stop at AT&T store on the way home and see if I can get them to move up my upgrade date.

it is, just not as useful to me (other than screen resolution).

What I really care about is getting all my carrier's upcoming LTE frequency bands. I use TMobile and the Note 4 is one of the few phones that can connect to their new LTE band 12 700 MHz rollout

yup, just make sure the phone you're trading in is worth more then $10 to them. Check ATT website and punch in the phone you're intending to trade. Remember you benefit the most by trading the cheapest POS phone that skirts in just over $10. They essentially giving you $200 for a $10 (carrier valued) phone.

I had no choice on the phone. It was an insurance claim. Sister was in family plan and lost phone. I took over the contract with ins claim from Sprint. She got my Virgin Mobile phone.

Oh yeah, Avalon. Bluetooth.
