It's still around $3.79 in NYC. Better than what it was for sure but didn't change my driving habits.

its still about $3.45 for premium around here, but california has about $1 built in taxes for each gallon. i'm hoping we see less than $3. that would be a sight to behold.

Just filled up at a Fairfax Exxon. $3.25 for 93 octane! I can't remember gas being this low. The great thing about this station is that it's in a shopping center where there's BJ's gas. So, they have to charge a bit more to compete.

St. Louis is full of 93 octane stations. If I travel twenty miles outside of it I can find 95 octane.

Yeah, I've been smashing on the throttle more often. I was taken off guard the other day when I filled up a full tank for $48. Im used to seeing it in the $65-70 range.

Never hold back due to gas cost - I drive based only on my mood and circumstances (which usually means windows open and engine screaming). It is nice to spend a little less when filling up 3 times a week though...

Quote from news article: "California wants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by the year 2020. In order to do that, the state passed a law, known as AB 32, that is the first of its kind in the U.S. Beginning in 2015, the law's penalty on carbon emissions will also apply to transportation fuels, including oil and gas. That means if your car runs on gas or diesel, you’ll pay more. Exactly how much more? Nobody knows. Apparently state legislators felt compelled to approve the law first and do the math later. They don’t believe they need to share the pesky details with the folks who elected them. Based on input from various industry organizations and consumer groups, it’s estimated that the cap and trade "tax" on carbon emissions has the potential to increase California’s retail gasoline prices from 16 cents to 76 cents per gallon. Most expect at least a 15-cent increase beginning in 2015. California drivers already pay the highest prices for fuel and the second highest fuel taxes in the country – 68.1 cents, second only to New York’s 68.9 cents per gallon." |
