YES Dave, the jig is finished now and a car fitting check is tomorrow on my car. I'll take photos and be able to work out final options and prices as soon as I get back. The jig was made on a near new compete stock X pipe so fitment should be as near perfect as possible.

So looking forward to seeing you in Perth in a couple of weeks. Be bringing lots of check in luggage

The model is now complete and ready for production. Yesterday we tried the test fit setup which was made up just for fitment cross check. The jig is ready and anyone who wants to go ahead can now place an order.
I'll be fitting a full setup on my car of the finished product probably next week.
Fitment is excellent at the same height and clearances as stock. Finished product is stainless steel coated with 800 degree finish in carbon black. High flow cats (200 CPSI) and resonators are Magnaflow stainless steel.

For the guys who have ordered, they are now being made for you and I'm really looking forward to getting across to Perth soon to catch up, do some tuning and fitting of these at BM Technics.

I'll post pricing and models as soon as my sponsorship banner is live again, but I now have all this info We have kept prices to a minimum without sacrificing quality. Prices have come in at much less than US prices and they are made in Brisbane and can be shipped anywhere in Australia at a reasonable rate.
It's been a long haul getting this right and and the option for just "test" pipes or a compete X with test pipes is a good thing to have, the "test" pipes can have a full X added at any time

What does each do

Hi there Dave,

I was wondering if you could out line what each of the different options does for sound, performance legality etc.

I currently have a BPM stage I tune.

Look forward to your response.

Thanks
Stilly

Here is the post with the details of options. I cant answer your question question regarding sound and legality I went with option 1

We were able to finalise the designs today and rather than using my car a model there is now something more permanent in place due to the interest shown. Prices will be kept to a minimum and even with amortisation for the jig we should be able to offer better than USA prices in AUS dollars with local freight.

The system will come as 2 sections:

1 "Track" or Test pipes which will eliminate the OE primary cats and fit to the existing OE X pipe before the secondary cats. For many this will be a lower cost and good simple solution

2 The X pipe (mid section) will fit behind the "track pipes" and replace the entire OE pipe from the headers to the cat back. Offered in the following variants

1. Resonated X pipe with 200 CPSI Magnaflow HFC
2. Non resonated X pipe with 200 CPSI HFC (loud)
3 Quad resonated X pipe (Catless)
4 Dual resonated X pipe (Catless)
5 Straight through X pipe

Options 3-5 are risky if you are concerned about getting caught for a full catless system. The fines are substantial. The most practical all round will be option 1 but it will be good to be able to upgrade from track pipes simply by adding the next section when the Minister for Finance gives (or is conned into) approval. Providing these in 2 parts makes sense, if a full system is needed there is a saving in freight getting both at once.

This system will fit a stock rear section or compliant cat backs

The X pipe design is going to be different to OE, the X will meet just behind the gearbox as close as possible to the motor. I've run this system before and the power gains are noticeable, especially catless.

All of these will require an ECU tune to eliminate CEL and take advantage of the new power gains. I've been working with Mike Benvo (BPM Sport) for a while now and am a Distributor here for his ECU/DCT and coding. Many will be aware of Mike's credentials and excellent reputation. For those who want local support (my own background is Electronic Engineering and IT) this may be useful

The stage 1 tune will need to be upgraded to a stage 2 tune to take advantage of gains from deleting the 400 cpsi primary cats, also to get rid of the CEL you will get when primary cats are removed. Mike charges $150 US for an upgraded file
Any removal of the primary cats will cause a check engine light unless you have a tune and they are removed within the tune. Cold start is also another good thing to get rid of
To try and answer questions
“Track” or test pipes will increase sound levels by around 20% and give a raspier tone. The secondary OE 200 cpsi cats are likely to be enough to meet environmental requirements but these may vary from state to state so it’s impossible to make this predication but it should be OK
Straight X –Full catless in any state is going to be illegal and there are large fines associated with removing all cats. In terms of loudness it will be a lot louder as the cats cut back sound pressure quite some and the resonators on the back cut sound back quite a bit. Performance gains with no cats can definitely be felt and the advantages are better sound, nice back burble and the occasional flame. The fines are a killer though
A dual resonated catless pipe will be louder than a non catless pipe and still illegal
The 200cpsi Magnaflow High Flow cats combined with the rear 12” resonator is slightly louder than the track pipe options as the Magnaflow cats are high flow cats but the resonators are 2” longer to compensate. Sound will vary dramatically depending on the rear section choice.
I have a Gintani valved race on mine with the full X pipe and high flow cats and it is quieter with the valves closed than the track pipes and louder with the valves open.
X pipes can induce drone but again it depends on the rear section you are using the large resonator on the rear of the X should compensate for the freer flow with sound levels
Performance gains are there, more so by removing the primary cats than anything else, so track pipes alone will give good gains, but for those who want to keep the full factory x intact a replacement X pipe is a good way to go and more free flowing than a modified factory X pipe.
The Magnaflow cats in these new systems are the same cpsi (cells per square inch) as the stock cats but are high flow cats.
Hope that answers some questions

Dave's was the first to go on and we also did a custom BPM Sport tune. The system was fitted by BM Techniks in Perth and I think they were quite happy with fitment and performance.
In terms of loudness this setup has the Borla Atak rear system which is their most aggressive set up. Sound is going to be dependant on the rear section used. Surprisingly no drone with this setup and not over the top as a DD but lots on demand

Installed my system on Saturday. Fitment is much like OEM everything lined up perfect. Very impressed. Rear section is everything for the sound as mine is extremely raspy and a bit tinny. (Want to try get the tinnyness out of it a bit) I'll take some videos this afternoon hopefully. Performance gains were easily noticable straight away. Customer support from Dave is excellent. Calling me before his flight and leaving me a message on some fitment tips n tricks. Thanks Dave for an awesome product.
