M-sport Mud flaps
Why do the dealers say that the mud flaps doesn't fit the M-sport?
I have seen a couple of threads here that shows pictures of them on M-sports, but still they won't mount them. They say that if I want them they can order them for me but I have to mount them myself. |

Better question, why ruin the beautiful lines of the M-Sport with unnecessary addenda...?

Well, the problem is that here in Norway the use salt, and lots of it on the roads when it snows. So it damages the paint under and on the sides of the car. I'd agree with you in the summer.

The mud flaps fit the rear valance, but not the front of my F31 M-Sport. The inner-most anchor point of the front flap ins't anywhere near metal under the car.

3M clear protectant would probably be a better solution

My thoughts exactly. I think the dealer meant they don't 'fit' the look of the M-Sport. LOL

Mine were no problem. Installed myself - everything lined up perfectly.
Nice protection in the salt and cinder world of narrow interstates! The clear plastic coat applications will get sandblasted look shortly from my experience.

I'd be interested in an under-body photograph of the front flap to see how it is anchored in an M-Sport F30/31.

I'm looking at going with Rally Armor. Yes they are predominantly for the Subaru crowd but I'm not a fan of the BMW ones that wrap around the body. My fear is that with swapping out seasonally (as I'll only use them during winter) that the paint may get marred.

I just installed the BMW OEM Mudflaps onto a 2014 335i M-Sport RWD. It fit perfectly. The ONLY issue I had is the push-pins for the top hole of the fronts always bent! Looks like I'll either be buying those pins and trying again or going to Autozone for a small assortment with screw-push pins. I don't understand why BMW couldn't have just used screw-push pins.

Well, I work on a military installation where they let you rent a lift bay per hour. With that equipment, I thought it was much easier to just remove the wheels.
I think it's definitely possible to install mud-flaps without removing the wheels or lifting the vehicle. |

I was able to modify the rear F30 mud flaps to fit the f36 however the fronts are so totally different that only the aftermarket ones like Rally Armor, would be a possible.
I didn't want to ruin the lines but living in Scotland the roads are filthy and stone laden you vcery quickly chip up the paint so feel these are very much an essential now.
