BMW M140i engine management light P13C9

Hello,

I currently own a 2017 BMW M140i with 39,000 miles on it. Recently, while driving on the motorway, the engine management light (EML) randomly appeared. After connecting a code reader, I found the fault code P13C9. I cleared the code, but it reappeared after driving around 30 miles on two separate occasions. I have researched this issue, and it seems that the VANOS solenoid is often the culprit. I'm wondering if it's safe to continue driving the car and if anyone else has encountered this problem. Additionally, I would appreciate any insights into other potential causes before I proceed with purchasing a new VANOS solenoid.
Thank you very much.
