Sorry if this has already been said, but I hate when people are telling you something and add all sorts of useless info, making their story take way too long.

For example, the point of the story: "I got some coffee today"

They say: "you know, I was kinda tired this morning and decided to get something to drink. I went to the Starbucks on 5th....or was it 6th? I think it's 5th, the one next to the Best Buy. Anyway, traffic really sucked, I don't now what's wrong with people. So I got my coffee. I love Starbucks. Then I had to get on the road again and get to work".

But then when you try to pin them down on what exactly they are trying to say -is it this? or is it that?- they answer no to both.. then you realize they are incapable of giving you an answer and just want to continue rambling on forever.. and you realize you are in the relationship for the sex.

Yes! Just like when they could start a story saying, "Someone I know..." but will give useless details like, "My co-worker's brother's friend's cousin...". Ugh.

As far as people not getting to the point, when I ask a direct question like: "what time are we supposed to be at the party?" And I get a whole response involving what they did earlier in the day, and what has yet to be done, in intricate detail. All the while, I can't get a word in edgewise... and the person speaking is obviously not paying attention to my facial cues. Once the whole diatribe is over, I just repeat the question "ok, so what time are we supposed to be at the party? "
