A special version with tracks could be offered to the Army to replace their Abrams tanks.

Yes, I do! What gets me is people ranting about how BMW is watering down the brand, yet, they love their new models (2er, 4er, etc.). I would consider less that BMW is watering down the brand and believe more that they are adapting to market changes. People change, society changes, and thus our transportation follows. I grew up around BMWs, reading about them, riding in them, driving them, and I can honestly say, I like the route BMW is taking. Who cares if they build a front wheel drive minivan? As long as they produce the M series, does it really matter what else they make? They adapt and they grow, it's business.

Thanks for letting me rant. LIVE LONG, BMW!

Sadly the M models aren't anymore what they used to be.M5 is an example of what an M should not be IMO.

9-Series if it was luxury more than the 7-Sereis so that could kill Rolls Royce sales like what previous S-Class did with Maybach.

that will be something like 15 base models. roughly 90 if you include sub models. all the same car but slightly larger and more cushy as you go. kinda reminds me of a matryoshka. lol

that does not include motorcycles and scooters.

Thats what im talking about..i dont care if BMW keeps making more models to expand its line of flavors..as long as they keep using the ingredient that made them what they are known for, and that one flavor that everyone loved..but it seems that they dont really care anymore about using the best ingredients to produce their ice cream, nor make the best flavor that they used to make.
You totally hit the nail on the head. Since the F10, every time a new model is released this is exactly how I feel. My next car will be from when BMW was in their sweetspot, a last year e46 or e39.

But it gives clues to the DNA and vision that will be found in three upcoming specific BMW luxury models. Its an entirely new vision that showcases Many advances through engineering , design , technology and connectivity.

And it is going to be a reality....in 2015.
Then in 2017. But it is going to filter down the model lines.

Well, MB are striking hard with the S class, the C class and A class and it's derivates.
So it makes sense for BMW to go after the more high end premium market imo.
I welcome it, and looking at the 6 GC, the 9 and the X7 should be insane, both techy and classy imo.

Buy and drive the car you like; realize your needs/preferences/budget do not encompass the entire market, and relax about models not relevant to you.

It's so tiresome to see consumers so determined that choice is negative and involves watering down the brand.
If your needs are that bespoke,BMW, a mass market brand, is clearly not for you. Mclaren is more than am happy to look after your needs I'm sure!
+1 , so many people seem to let out all the frustration at some internet news whether its this forum or whatever else. Buy the car you want to buy and let others decide what is good for them

If the new DNA of BMW is to make always bigger and heavier cars (9 series, X7) and FWD pampers boxes (SAV) instead of doing something in the line of their "Freude am Fahren", e.g. a true sportscar that has been missing from their line-up for decades, I call this pathetic.

Just my 2c.

A current 7er only barely fits in a standard German parking bay...is the 9er going to come with its own pop-up garage?
