Let me summarize. As I understand it, I have Andream device.
The device works excellently, it connects quickly, it is conveniently controlled both from the joystick and from the steering wheel. And for my idea of replacing the PDC picture, I will have to switch to firmware and MCU Bimmertech. Maybe there are those who have already reflashed Andream device in Bimmertech? The wheel on the steering wheel allows you to scroll through the menu items and confirm? Does the speakerphone in Car Play work only through the device or can you set up OEM bluetooth? At the moment, OEM bluetooth cannot connect while the device is connected.

Hi, I have NBT id4, and a Andrean MMI box.
Always as I start the car, Apple CarPlay starts automaticly. Is it possible to “auto” start with the Idrive ? And then, when I want to, switch to Apple CarPlay with the menu button. |

i dont think you can set that
maybe from the phone you can set something in my experience with Andream and Android Auto wireless, the autostart is not reliable 100%, for instance if i unlock the car doors and then wait 10 seconds or more before starting the cars, the android auto will work maybe 20% of the times |

No Sound
I have a version B Andream. It is installed and working (mostly) in my 2014 F25. I was able to upgrade the firmware and connect the phone, etc. But I have no sound. I have the Aux cable plugged in the armrest and the iDrive set to front Aux. What am I missing?? Oh, I should specify I am using an Android.
Thanks! |

Update, changed from wifi channel 36 to channel 6 and no disconnects on a few short/local drives with multiple starts/stops. Not convinced this is an absolute fix until I get on the highway going through populated areas to rule out any interference.

Does anyone have any suggestion for the cleanest place to locate the candybar style antenna that has the 3M tape on it and still get the best reception on an NBT EVO unit? Can this go behind the head unit or on top of it directly without electro magnetic interference? Or should it be higher up near the dash or near the drivers side footwell plastic trim?

I’ve had this mmi box for about 2 years and I thought it was normal for the Screen not to show camera when I select reverse. I’ve been holding down menu button to get into bmw Idrive so I can see my reverse 360 cameras.
My car is M5 F10 2016 and has original 360 camera. I’ve played around with the settings and can’t seem to get the reverse camera to automatically come up when I’m in CarPlay mode. Also no volume bar when I’m In car play. This is my firmware: Sdk 25.0.0.5.6.0.0.0 Cust Version 9.2.6.yl.b MCU VERSION 20.4.2.14 Hw version BMW NBT. What brand MMI box do I have?? Andream, Bimmertech Roadtop etc. Can my firmware be updated and what to?? Any help will be amazing or I’m going to just sell this and buy a new one with updated firmware lol. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance. |

Your CUST version seems to look like the versioning format used for this one "Carlinkit [NBT]" on the First Page of this forum, but I'm not an expert. Your MCU version doesn't seem to match any of those listed for this product on the First Page, so you should try to check if your box has any info printed on it that can tell you what it is. Failing that contact your seller if they're still around and see if they can tell you. Someone on this forum who is smarter than me might be able to help more than I can on this. I haven't even installed my box yet, but have been a long time lurker and reading a lot on this forum, so trying to help.

Can I ask someone experienced for help? After exiting to the ConnectedDrive interface, Carplay keeps reopening. The only way to get into the ConnectedDrive interface is to unpair the phone or set airplane mode.
The second question is about stability - does anyone experience Carplay crashing, the screen going black for a while and then restarting? Thank you very much in advance! |

Had a very frustrating day today on my M140i with NBT EVO ID6 headunit.
ISSUE #1: I couldn't get the big block cable harness that goes in the back of my head unit to latch shut. As I closed the lever on the harness it pulled the plug right into the back of the headunit (as it should) but as the plug went further in, the lever ran out of room to close as it struck the back of the headunit which is metal and this stopped it latching onto the plastic tab on the plug... I pulled out all the other connectors and took the head unit out of the car and no matter how hard I pushed I was about 1mm off being able to latch it shut. ISSUE #2: Regardless of issue #1, the harness socket/plug was full in and all wires were connected, so I pressed on and started testing it out. Whilst everything worked at first, whenever I used the steering wheel scroll/controls the iDrive controller stopped functioning properly. I could still move onto the on-screen buttons, but was unable to select them by clicking on the iDrive controller. I also became stuck within the app/panel I was in, e.g. so if I was on the music app before using steering wheel controls I'd be stuck only being able to scroll within that panel and couldn't move across to the maps panel. Even moving the iDrive controller hard left or right wouldn't work at this point to move between panels. I tried resetting by holding the back button down (as per my product manual) and it didn't respond. Tried holding the Menu button to switch back to iDrive screen and again it didn't respond. To get the system to function properly again I had to do the following steps: 1. Fully turn off the car 2. Wait till it completely powered off (30secs or so). 3. Then restart the vehicle. If I don't wait the 30 secs in step 2, then I don't think the MMI fully powers down and stays in the malfunctioning state in which case the MMI screen or Android Auto doesn't launch when I start the car up again (can't switch to it from iDrive either). So it's all been a major let down and a waste of time as I can't have this happening when I'm actually driving. I uninstalled everything back to original. Does anyone know what could be wrong here? There are some MMI boxes that cannot be ever figured out 100%, like mine. Thanks to the disconnect between the Chinese designers and other clueless and careless Chinese that are selling them.
1. First would check the firmware display. But that is not always reliable. 2. Post a photo of your MMI box here. 3. Open it up and compare with the first page photos and post of a photo of the circuit board, etc |

Ran into an issue where I had no radio signal or sound. I realized that I had to transfer over the two green fiber optic cables from my original harness. If you run into this, make sure they are re-inserted back into the new harness in the right direction (messed this up the first time). Overall, the install ended up being more of a pain than I anticipated and took me quite a while to get everything squared away and reassembled. Mostly due to the glove box part I wasn't expecting. Sound quality seems good on my HK system with wireless using Spotify CarPlay on my phone. You can notice some slightly degraded quality with very high volume, but there's an equalizer and volume settings you can play around with. I was worried about sound quality of music, but am pleasantly surprised that it's still good even though the headunit system is set to "aux". I will continue to listen to music in CarPlay Spotify rather than OEM Bluetooth. |
