Thoughts on a 2012 E93 CPO
Alright guys I was originally in the market for a white or black E92 m3 but recently came across a dealer with a 2012 E93 M3. 8k miles, black on black, DCT, premium package, carbon leather trim and asking $59.9k... I don't know a ton about these so just looking for some advice. This would be my first BMW and first M car (obviously). Car looks clean, some minor curb rash and some scuffs on the back bumper. Engine was super clean (8k what do you expect) but is there anything specific I could/should look for. I got them down to 56k and they will refinish the rims and fix the bumper.
Think that's a fair deal? Any thoughts on the hardtop convertibles as far as resale and just general issues? Recently located to Fl Thanks for the help Ryan |

As you know, a coupe looks different from a top up convertible. Which of the two appearances appeals to you? That should give you a clue about which direction to go. My number one thing is: I need to always like to look at my car.
The most visually appealing configuration of the convertible is with the top down & windows down. Which brings up another question: are you a convertible person? Resale value is a rational consideration when buying a car. Buying a convertible, however, has very little to do with rational thinking. It has everything to do with your emotions. If the emotions are not there, then that's another clue. Should you decide to go with that black beauty, then, for the sake of the female passenger you may be fortunate enough to have with you, get them to throw in the wind screen. |

I recently came up against this same decision. mine was an 09 w 23k on the clock for 40k. it had a couple of stone nicks on the front bumper and hood which the dealer offered to fix. I have now owned it for about 2 months and never looked back. It's an amazing car in every aspect, especially in high revs with the top down!
having owned rag tops previously, the hard top is a must from here on out. with the top up you'll never know its a convertible from the inside. it's dead silent, even at higher speeds and in the rain. If you're a convertible person, in a convertible climate, and the price works for you I'd say go for it. |

I'd say that was priced too high. I know its a Convertible but that's what we paid for a pristine fully loaded E92 last Oct and this one doesn't sound like it was fully loaded and also has curb rash and scuffs.

I bought my e93 cpo for much less. It had double the miles and 1 year older but 59 is way too much since 13s are going for around there. I would say 55 is much fairer.
I had a e92 335 and now an e93. The e93 is much less practical than the e92 in cabin space and trunk space with top down. But I think the sacrifice is worth it when I have the top down. I love verts and not really planning to track my car hard core so the vert was a good choice for me. Unless you are a top down junkie like me you might be better off getting the e92. Good luck in your search. |
