no just standard LED headlights that I always found underwhelming. I would’ve already had the HBA button if I had the adaptives

Added a G11 aluminium start button for +50hp and +100 cool points

Bit of a shame you can't fit the surround too, but the F30 part is a single piece moulded one. Boo hiss.

So you’re retrofitting some adaptive headlights? If so, let me know what you plan on doing with your old ones

Where did you source it? Looks different from what I’m seeing on eBay (the circular ridges). Perhaps there are two different versions?

It's eBay sourced. £40 for the whole switch so I reckon I can recoup some. There seem to be two different styles, a circular brushed finish which seems to be common in the USDM and a satin finish which looks common across Europe.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I definitely prefer the satin finish and will be ordering that one

Friday night test and tune. The first time out this year the car was stock and ran a 12.99.

This time is with the Dinan OTS 93 flash....12.61

This was the 4th and best run of the night, BUT the launch control didn't activate. In the right lane was a 2014 435i xdrive with catted down pipe, full AWE exhaust, and BM3 stage 2 tune.

This was about as close and evenly matched race that you could have, both car and driver.
At the 60 foot, he was .03 ahead
At the 330 foot, he was .04 ahead
At the 1/8, he was .06 ahead
At 1000 ft, he was .05 ahead
At the 1/4, he finished .05 ahead
Amazing!

The previous runs before I was .03 and .06 quicker than he was, so I'm thinking with launch control, Im low 12.40's or even high 12.30's.

I guess I'll have to wait until next time.

power trunk retrofit today from bimmertech. fairly annoying DIY, 4 hour job, lots of things went wrong. but got it done in the end, so happy i have an automated trunk now. mostly cause i hate slamming the trunk close, i’m happy to have the soft close function of the new latch.

Fyi, this one seems to be painted plastic while the other one is stainless steel.

I have the satin one and while visually it’s very well integrated with the ”metal” surround, m steering buttons and various other similar trim sprinkled around the centre console/dash, there is almost no change in tactile feeling that I could sense, or at least no improvement over the standard black plastic button.

I believe the stainless steel button would be better to the touch with nice cold metal feel and definitely stand out more, but it’s definitely less well integrated in the overall look of the dash.

I also enjoy the stencil-like font, same as the satin buttons on the M steering wheel.

Thanks for the heads up. For me it’s just about getting a nice aesthetic look, don’t really care about how the button feels for the half second I press it, haha. I currently have a silver button (eBay) that’s decent but it doesn’t quite match the surrounding trim, so I’m hoping the one from the euro g11 matches better. I’m picky, what can I say 😅

Got my Bilstein B12 kit installed, Eibach lowering springs and Bilstein B8 dampers. Feels so good, stiffer than stock for sure but not harsh at all.

Still have some horrendous xDrive wheel gap but it did lower it about 0.75". Wasn't looking to be low, though, since I've got midwest roads and snow to consider.

did front F8X brake rotor conversion thanks to Kern417. Bought some adapters from him. Doing rears next week, it’s just more complicated from what I can tell. Also put some Hawk 5.0’s so no more crappy oem brake dust

As an owner of the "stainless steel" version, I can attest that the feel is nicer than the original plastic. But make no mistake the metal is not actually metal. It's a "metal" veneer on plastic. I love it though.
