I thought I don't need to say this - The i8 is Not a competitor to a Audi R8 or Gallardo.

i8 should be compared to that other overpriced electric car in the USA.

Garage List
2009 BMW 128i  [9.80]
One of the greatest generations of BMWs we ever saw was the e9x M3 and e60/63 M5/M6. I mean without question that was the the pinnacle in my opinion. We had the S85 V10 and the S65 V8. Both world class engines capable of competing with the best and built with motorsports/track driving as top priority. These types of engines were everything the M fans could hope for. Now we have an M4, turbo'd engines in all the M cars, an M3/4 which is only tenths faster than a 4000LB Lexus around the track, engine sounds played through speakers because the car is too insulated, and you can't help but think BMW has taken a clear step in a much different direction which is not in line with what the M division should and used to be.

Well, maybe Ford Motor Company too...
