Now if he still shows up with lower grip tires, then perhaps the difference won't be as dramatic.
I don't know about you with your car but I have a healthy respect/fear for my car (I can't imagine making a mistake going 9/10th and having the back end come out on me). I think this is the first time that PCA SD will be running 13CW...they normally run 1CW or 1CCW (PCA GGR ran 1CW in May). I haven't been to Buttonwillow since May with PCA GGR so I'm definitely itching to get back there. I think the goal will be 1:55s with the NT01s/RA1s and 1:53s with the R6s since I ran a 2:03 going 1CW in May.

Isn't the PCA SD group the one that requires you to have a roll bar/cage in your car with your performance points? You should come out to the PCA GGR event next year as they don't do the performance points thing.

Great improvement!!
Thanks man! Yeah, you know…..the first time I visited Buttonwillow in Jan 2012 (my second ever track day), my fastest lap was a 2:29…….I've learned quite a lot since then.

And that AP Racing kit I bought from you really has served me well! It's been the MOST trouble free and most reliable mod on the car.

Yup, those goals are in line with what I was saying----low 50's with new pavement and fresh R6. Will you have R6 with you at the PCA SD event?

Ok maybe some but TC on will never let you go 9/10. maybe 9/10 of 8/10 so your're looking at 7/10. Maybe 10/10 of 8/10 max.

Yeah, I'll have GSR trailer the car up to both the Chuckwalla and Buttonwillow PCA SD events along with all 3 set of my wheels (street and the 2 track 18s) so I'll have the R6s. I'll probably run the R6s at Chuckwalla on Sunday for 3-4 sessions and then I'll run them again 3-4 sessions at Buttonwillow in Nov. You should come out to Buttonwillow...just omit that you have a blower and you'll be fine. Not like they'll make you pop the hood anyhow. TLP didn't have a problem getting through their vetting process with his E92 M3.

Not 9/10ths of what the car can do, but what you yourself can do that day in the car. When I have an open track in front of me that's when I do my hot laps for PBs, when there's traffic I pull back a bit since I'm not an aggressive passer and tweak my line a bit to see how a change would might feel.

What your nemesis is talking about is the full capability of the car not you. What he doesn't understand is that your skill limited 9/10ths can be every bit as scary and probably more so than a pro at 10/10th. His lap times however will be way quicker. The way over the limit, way under see saw doesn't happen with the pro he's right up to it but not way over or under.

I didn't know that I had a nemesis. The pro would have zero fear of any car, including mine. I'm just a guy that goes to the track half a dozen weekends a year, but I do stay at the Holiday Inn. The goal is to always leave the car in the same condition it came to the track, have no offs, and if I can record a PB then that much better.

Yep you got a nemesis I think. Holiday in won't help you drive faster but a little slipping and sliding might if just to know what to expect and add one more thing to your mental programing you can handle.

Yes a little slipping and sliding AND feeling it through the seat and the steering wheel will make you better.

Its funny because when I first went DSC off, I noticed that steering wheel almost automatically does what its supposed to do. From there its just an adjustment. It feels like the counter steering happens itself. I don't think oh I have to turn the wheel 2 clicks to the left.

I used to watch videos and think how does one know how much to counter? It just goes there automatically. From there you straighten the car back out. It was amazing.

I'm gone off a few times but the PCA/POC/BMW CCA crowd doesn't like offs...they have a 3 strikes and you are done for the weekend policy.

So use 2 sugardaddy. Ours is 2 spin rule and your done for the day. If you control it and don't Spin all good.

also means you need to learn how to control. guaranteed at those same events you go to there is massive slippage happening in some cars. I was drifting all day with cca and they no care.

in fact they teach you what to do when tc is off and you are sliding around.
