Seat tearing

Hello

New to the forum as of last week.

I brought a second hand BMW 1 series only done 5000 miles when I pick it up....it's now on 5700... Any way

This morning getting into my car my other half pointed out to me that it looked as if the right bum cheek side has worn away...I've only had it two weeks....

I've got warranty with BMW for three years...but will this go down as wear and tear or is there a fault with the seat??

Has anyone else had this kind of problem before?

Cheers

Some leatherette in BMWs did wear and break too fast; 05 and or 06 models come to mind. Definitely should not happen this soon. I would go to dealer, be polite but firm and ask for a no cost replacement. Info is power so cruise all other BMW forums and see if anyone else having this problem. Have not heard of it in Canada or USA. Look at all the other used BMWs in the BMW dealers lot to see if you can see any evidence of problems starting in them.

Have an '04 M3 with +60k miles, passenger seat is nice, but entry side of driver's seat is starting to wear off color (but leather & stitching is fine). Good luck, my dealership is quite strict, I'd bet that your dealership will only offer a re-dye.
