Olympics

Third world countries like Russia should not be allowed to host an Olympics. Nothing but bad reports coming out of Socchi. Poor facilities, dangerous event venues, mass stray dog exterminations, corruption, etc, etc. Russia spent more money on this Olympics than all other Olympics combined, and it's still a shithole. I hope they at least get the security right.

I agree with you 110%. I've heard many reports about how many private security teams have been hired by the US Olympics to protect our athletes and provide quick escapes out of Russia. Plus the US govt has brought in Navy ships close by in the event something comes up. Scary.

Pretty sad that is what it needed to resort to just to ensure the safety of athletes all going against each other for a similar cause.

Hopefully everyone gets through this with a good year and a good outcome so we can look forward to a less stressful environment in the future.

Some Twitter pics and postings are painting a scene of crappy athlete rooms and shoddy hotel rooms despite the huge amount of money spent to build the facilities. Apparently most of the money went into someone's pocket.

Then there's stupidity such as this BS about yogurt.

Shaun White bailed out of a snowboarding event because it's too dangerous. If that kid thinks it's too dangerous, it must be bad.

More here. What a joke.

And leave your laptop at home.

We seem to be superior in sucking at pretty much everything these days. Last I checked we're not even in the top 20 when it comes to science, math, and reading. We are still number one in delusion though.

Sir!!! These are not sweat pants but designer Adidas work out gear. They are fashionable and practical, mostly because they slide off easy when we need to inject our steroids or get head from the hoe bag at the tanning salon.

I don't hate you Billup, I love the US. Every time I travelled to the US everyone was very welcoming.
And after all, we managed to dump Piers Morgan on you......

Funny stuff guys. Don't look forward to winter olympics that much. Will just try to catch highlights mostly. Hopefully none of mayhem.

The root of these problems is the rampant curruption.

Stray dogs are a problem in much of eastern Europe but that's a problem that should have been dealt with months ago and much more humanely.

Given the number of terrorist attacks within the US over the last few years, the athletes are probably safer in Russia.

Highly doubt that, they picked an area that isn't all that secure and relatively close to cheschnia.

I hope that you're wrong and the Russian government is more successful than the US government in protecting from terrorism.
