I agree, however, with the experience Massa has, probably he could take a more conservative approach, like take the inside a few feet more and leave a bit more room between him and Perez.

On hindsight, he could've drive a bit more defensive and protect himself from accident like that.

Massa was pretty wide comparatively. It almost seems like Perez was forced to go wider in to Massa's line due to the trajectory of Vettel's RB10. If he hadn't he might have taken out Vettel instead.

I don't get why its the fault of Perez...he is perfectly allowed to take a different line to the corner to protect his place. Massa hit his rear tyre which makes it entirely Massa's fault to me.

He was already having problems with braking and I think Vettel's line forced him to correct, under braking, for the turn and he might not have realized how close Massa was in his passing line. The small course correction caused Massa to hit him. He should have stayed on his line through the turn, especially knowing of his rear brake issues. It wasn't safe.

What's done is done. The penalties were given to the ones stewards thought it was right... Moving on. Not much we can do, nor argue about who's at fault. Looking forward to Austria.

and Thanks for that Amazing Diagram! I literally jumped out of my seat when that happened and was glad that Vettel didn't get wiped out in the process.

Up until Canadian GP I was still thinking "Brawn GP" in terms of Mercedes dominance this season, so it's nice to see that they can get problems. I agree that this season is better than I expected. I'm waiting for Honda's Power Unit for 2015, and hope that Mclaren can get back to their game (It's also a must buy shirt when it says Mclaren/Honda).

Regarding Nico it's not about gaining just 0.6s.

It's about using an escape route not only to undo the severe time and position penalty that would be the result of a pure driver mistake but actually gaining from it.

It was also not a move done to save himself from a mistake or reckless driving by another driver where keeping your position when regaining would be ok.

He made the mistake himself and elected to use the escape route to save an extend his lead, not cool. If the escape route wasn't there the mistake would for sure lead to losing several positions and most likely his race would have been over, not just a loss of 0.6s. A drive through penalty would be a much fairer ruling here IMO. The escape route is there as a safety measure to prevent accidents, not to prevent loss of position when you screw up the corner entry.

Caterham is having money problems and might not make it to Austria?
Has anyone else heard that and could it be true?

Didn't Renault just buy a stake in Caterham?

It was just for a sports car build project, not related to the F1 team:
