As someone that travels 35k miles/year and uses their car as an office; I can tell you the appeal is genuine. Concierge service can be an excellent tool that improves safety and efficiency.

When used over Bluetooth, the track data gets stuck at the first song that is played, (and you of course only have next/prev song functionality vs playlists, browsing, etc).

Apple's Music app works extraordinarily well, even over Bluetooth, but it's just too late - very few use iTunes anymore.
Leaving the app open isn't really an issue for me as the phone is already in the center armrest. I never touch my phone anyway while driving (neither should anyone else lol).

I would like credit for every time the Google "Send To Car" didn't work over the past 3 years. No way am I going to pony up for DisConnectedDrive when when my warranty expires next year.

+999999999999999.

eyes on the road.

my spotify app does not need to be on and locked for it to work in the cradle with an iPhone 6.

also - the email issue has been discussed ad nauseum with solutions posted. you need to kill your email app before starting the car and emails (for me, Gmail only, not enterprise emails) come through. texts always work.

This is so last century.
Google send to Car?? This is beyond bad.

Please look at Audi. It has instant Google Maps / Earth and with 4G LTE, it gets up-to-the-minute latest navigation info and photos.

At least there is the promised Navigation updates via internet (3G??)
Last time I updated my Navigation "disks" at the dealership, it took a whole day of "programming". What gives? Are the dealerships still using AOL dial-up connections?

No reply for text, only via Siri. Emails come through on Connected Drive on the screen, but read my post on how to reset your phone for it to work. Using an iPhone 6

Right, because if you and your circle of friends mostly use Spotify then everybody must do the same. Millions of people "still" use iTunes. I'm one of them. And the integration with iDrive is spotty at best. I have to start playing it on my iPhone before iDrive realizes I have more than 2 songs.
