Totaled my e46 looking at an e92

Last week I totaled my e46 and am thinking of upgrading to an e92 since I'm back in the market for a new vehicle. I really don't know a whole lot about these models but am headed up to Leesburg, VA to check out an '07 328i this weekend. I've attached a link and a few pics of the car. I was wondering from the forum, what are a few things that I need to watch out for with this particular model? Especially with the vehicle having 95k miles. I had BMW run the VIN and fax me over the dealer's maint. history, the most major issue that was worked on was a transmission fluid leak fixed back in 2010, however the previous owners stopped having the dealership work on their car around that same time (warranty probably ran out). I'm also looking for a good indy shop in the Leesburg area to do a pre-purchase inspection.

Yes it sounds that you were driving your e46 and crashed while looking at an e92...

Lol, I read it how it was supposed to be read when I first saw it but laughed when I went back and read it without punctuation.

Valve cover gasket leak, oil filter housing gasket leak, lifter ticking, bent wheels - sports package and run flats don't mix well, thermostat, water pump. Those are common issues.

Lol same.

Just bought an e92 at 87k miles.. Oil filter housing, valve cover gasket, 3 injectors, waterpump +thermostat, spark plugs and coilpacks within the first 2,000 miles of driving it.

I was street racing under the influence while texting and receiving road head.

for real though; I made a left turn too wide and/or too fast. I hit the curb and it set off the A-pillar airbag, caused damage to control arm, bushings, ball joints, and strut mount. It also rashed 2 wheels beyond repair. The strut mount and air bag were the main reason the vehicle's repair price was enough to call it a total loss. I'll post a pic when I get home, there was really no visible damage done to the body (unless you count the wheels).

My mechanic had told me that he could replace the bushings and reinforcement plate and have it good to go for $600-$700 (at this point, I wasn't too concerned with fixing the pillar airbag). After that was done, they tried to do an allignment and found out what else was wrong so I turned it into insurance. I had to pay my deductible and also the shop bill for the bushings/reinforcement plate since the work was done prior to the claim (even though it was done as a result of the accident).

I saw "Totaled my e46 looking...", clicked over to it hoping to see "...at a super hot chick", with picture. Oh, well, that's my favorite color combination. I got the LeMans Blue/Beige... close enough.
