Did you do this for the M Sport package or the technology stuff?

This is for an E92 M3. No M Sport package available. I pushed back the order so I can have all the new stuff like auto start/stop, two tone seats, newer iPod integration, etc., etc.

Oh I'm sorry for some reason I thought this was for the F10. I was reading two threads at once.

What are they changing on the F10? Anything worth waiting for?

Well they're adding M Sport, xDrive, and I suppose the iDrive changes as well. Although it seems like the F10 may already have some of the iDrive changes as it is (ie. I read somewhere it has Bluetooth music streaming, and another member mentioned during a test drive he got his email from his iPhone on the iDrive, so it seems like it may already have some of it).

But certainly M Sport is 100% worth waiting for.

I talked to the dealer I am ordering my car from and they said they have no idea about the changes for September. How can I be sure that I will get them?

Dealer I'm working with said they same, they don't have official confirm yet. I'm holding off on my order until they do.

All,
I got this from my SA since I was about to order a car tonight. I thought I would pass this along. I apologize if this is old information but it seems to list all changes. Enjoy.

I just returned from Performance Delivery for my 2011 335xi MT with M pkg. I love my car and I love driving it. =)

The other two things I love are hifi audio and technology gadgets. After reading this PDF, it looks like BMW chose my build to downgrade the standard stock audio system. Every build that was before 9/2009 (and now after 9/2010) got the HiFi Audio system standard with 180W, separate equalizer, and tweeters in the front doors. My car doesn't even have a place to put front tweeters. If I upgrade the sound system, I have to purchase replacement door frames from BMW. I think they're only $55, but it's just depressing to know that my same car built after 9/2010 would have had this stuff for free.

I've been reading about the new iDrive integration with the iPod/iPhone for some time and looking forward to using it in my car... but this PDF says that the new features will not be retrofittable!! I was hoping it was just going to be a software upgrade to the iDrive unit.

I still love my car, but I think it was unfortunate that it was built less than 2 months too early.

Anyone that has a car on order have confirmation on the build document of the 6VC - COMBOX adapter on it? I am ordering a 2011 X5 35d and want to be sure the ipod updates with cover art, iphone ios4 updates, bluetooth streaming, and office text to speach options are included. The dealer documents explain that September builds onward will have this. Is it all vehicles with the 639, 6FL, and 620 options to include the COMBOX or idrive updates they mention? The dealer is unsure if this is included on my vehicle. Anyone know the best way to find out or what to look for?

Mine was a 12/2009 build with 01/2010 delivery and it has HiFi.

6VC is the new code for Combox, which is brand new hardware and software that BMW has been working on for the last few years. Vehicles made from September on (from Dingolfing) will incorporate this new hardware. Vehicles made in South Carolina will be from October on. 6VC is now showing up on the detailed equipment list work orders that your dealer can give you a copy of. A full breif on the features of this new hardware can be read on the July Bulletin that BMWNA came out with. Most of the new features are not retrofittable to ealier cars. There may be some programming updates.

Biggest feature that I will like is the fact that with combox, you can use voice commands to operate the Ipod. Say "Shock the Monkey" and voila, Peter Gabrial starts singing..........

Combox Retrofit

So BMW states retrofitting is not possible due to new hardware....

What would stop you from buying the hardware pieces and integrating them?(even if it meant you needed a new head unit).
