New Bimmerworld S65 Headers?

Anyone heard about this? It was posted today on Bimmerworlds FB page... hopefully more info will be available soon.

Interesting. Didn't think much was to be had there.

I use to run headers on my camaro. I always wished the E9x M3 offered headers!

Hmmm. I always thought the OEM headers were pretty good and that there really weren't gains to be had. It seemed the few offerings only shifted the torque/power up or down on the power curve.

It will be interesting to see what these can do.

That would be substantial and hard to believe. 60 crank hp or so?

OEM headers are not really long tube headers though.

Saying its a package suggests more than just headers...guess we'll soon find out.

The collectors are interesting. 4 -> 2 -> 1 instead of 4 -> 1. From my eyes it looks like you'd need to use a different x-pipe as the connection point looks like it is further to the rear.

Yeah, that seems to be consensus. Hard to improve on what came from the factory

+1. Even Supersprint came out and said that there's not much gain to be had. Regardless, this will be huge bucks I'm assuming.

This was my initial assumption. I'm sure they'll make the exhaust note like angels were having an orgy, though.

Well they have 1 set of race headers that they say normally go for $5000, but these can be had for $3600.

I'm just kind of wondering what they have found that others have not. If I understand correctly, headers might help if you are supercharged or putting down big power, but if I remember correctly, it provides small gains (vs cost anyway) on NA cars.

4-2-1 are the proper headers for a NA v8. they will offer a good bump in the midrange. Tube length and diameter are very important though, if they finally spent the time it will be worth it in power but maybe not in price.
4-1 headers pretty much suck on a V8 that turns alot of rpm, we have tested many combinations and the 4-1 just kill the midrange. On our race engines they will lose 25ft/lb in the middle while only gaining 5 on top.
The distance between the two red lines is called the secondary length, it has a big effect on bottom end while only a small penalty on the top to a point. It looks pretty long so they should make a good difference on the torque graph.
On 4-2-1 the primary tube diameter is the main player in top end power.

My thoughts exactly. The design is definitely unique from what others have put out so i'm curious to see the results.

Cool, thanks for your insight! I guess it'll come down to price. Something like a 25ft-lbs of gain might be worth it, IF it doesn't cost something absurd like $4000, and it adds a nice sound to it (which I already hard to believe because these things already sound so damn good).

We picked up 19whp with the schmiedmann headers on our shop car ($1600 retail), but that was with a supercharger. Can't say for sure there's any power NA though...
