Butt hurt cause I have soccer mom M3. To many fanboys. Yes it's a mustang. 2013 gt 500 75k for 650whp that's great. Would I ever buy one no. No reason to. Doesn't fit my needs. it's more than power in a straight line. It goes way beyond that. M3 suits my needs as a daily. All personal preferences. I have a Ford 350 king ranch for towing my cars. Nothing against Ford just wouldn't buy their mustang from last experiences

I really liked the '08 Bullitt. The engine was a boat anchor but my favorite Mustang in the area's Mustang Club was a modded '08 Bullitt. I don't know if I can link it here (can we link posts from Mustang forums or will we get banned?) so I won't, but it was downright sick (he just recently sold it). They are somehow an incredibly attractive version of (IMO) an ugly car. Even in stock form, they look good.
Don't get me wrong, we know what a modified S197 is capable of, and the 3V loves boost, but out-of-the-box, the '05-'10 GTs were slow and the earlier S197s felt like they weren't designed with handling in mind whatsoever. Love that phrase. Where are you shopping? That's stupid, 75k for a 650whp '13 GT500, get real. |

'13 GT500 isn't $75k unless you're dumb to buy a marked up car and its 662 BHP. Even if you up'd the power to 650rwhp, it's total cost wouldn't come close to $75k.
A '13 GT500 cost the same or LESS than a new M3 and wayy, wayy less than a M4. Which it is still faster than a M3/M5/M6 around a road course, that has curves. The new M4? I'm sure it's faster than it too. Actually, a '14 GT500 cost just over $63k with recaros, performance pack and track pack..... A lowly mid $40k 2012 Boss 302 is faster than the M3. Heres a link for the latest Lightning Lap results from 2013, which includes the '13 GT500: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...o-2013-page-10 |

Ford says today the new GT is faster than the old Boss 302 around a track.
"The results speak for themselves – during track testing, the 2015 Mustang GT with performance package consistently beat the lap times of the 2012-2013 Mustang Boss 302." https://media.ford.com/content/fordm...uspension.html |

You bought the wrong mustang, 302 was a much better all around car. Consistently getting quicker lap times than the M3. The new '15 GT350 with IRS is going to murder the M4 around a track. People are going to be surprised. GT350 will be a more tack focused car, like the 302. I agree GT500 is a straight line car, just like the Hellcat (not my cup of tea).

i think people forget what a M car is. Sure these mustang GT ,302, GT500etc are pretty dam fast. Not everyone`s goals are for having a lot of power and fast car. I for one have many problems with mustangs. I like the luxury side of the M cars, plus they are more rare on the road. mustangs are more built on a budget, which is perfect for people chasing the power.
Just walk into a BMW dealership, then walk into a ford dealership. You will feel like BMWs are made for a higher calling. LOL but honestly i love what the USA is bring to the table. Mustangs are on my list, but at the end of the day not sure i wanna drive a common car. i would take a GT500 over a M4 though, because i like V8 engines. But when it comes to a AMG idk if would still take the GT500. |

Maybe the new M3/M4 will up the game but we'll have to wait and see. I bought my 135i not because its a BMW, not because it has all of this "luxurious" stuff. I had a couple of things on my list of my next new car; heated seats, sunroof, decent power, good handling and manual. But, I would have also jumped on a Boss 302 if I could have bought it at or below MSRP. |

Not sure if it's intentionally done, but the "maybe" in your signature should really read "may be".

Also, what are you talking about most people want a bare bones car? No, most people want a car they can live with, besides the mustang is not a bare bones car and will be available with new technologies. Just because it comes with a non-luxury interior does not make it bare. Very few people actually buy bare bones drivers cars contrary to what you may think, go to any BMW/Merc AMG/Porsche forum if you think most people want to order bare cars with no amenities. Came in here thinking we were going to talk Mustang.
Somehow an M car got thrown into the mix per usual. I love the new Mustangs. The price point is very competing with the amount of fun you'll be able to have in it. I haven't been a fan of Mustangs until recently, mostly per its exoskeleton, but times are changing, and I like what I see on all accounts. Good job Ford. |

Ford forgot what the Mustang was too with the Gen 2 back in the '70s and then almost with the what-was-to-eventually-become the Probe. And by the way, the 3-series really became "luxurious" only after the debut of Lexus and Acura. The E21, E30, and E36 were no more luxurious than a Honda at the time. |
