BMW encourages homeland employees to purchase bimmers (with flyers!)

Times are tough in the German domestic market for even a company such as BMW. At some select BMW factory parking lots in Germany, BMW is taking a decidedly low-tech approach to boosting its sales. The company has been confirmed to have placed more than seven thousand flyers onto non-BMWs driven by BMW employees. The flyers ask (actually guilt) the owner to consider purchasing a BMW instead of driving a rival make.

They each read: "What's wrong here? You like working with us. You appreciate your job and income. But you drive a vehicle from a competitor" and is signed by BMW's sales chief (Ian Robertson), head of personnel (Harald Krueger), and its top union representative (Manfred Schoch).

I think that if it works and helps out BMW's bottom line, why not not... it's not as if it's mandatory.

We're hoping to get a copy of this flyer to share with you.

Why is this a bad thing? I have my bank accounts at the bank I work at. I went to the school district my mom taught at. If I worked for a car company, I'd drive one of their cars.

In this economy, you should support the company giving you a paycheck. Heck, in any economy you should.

Exactly. They'd probably sell more cars worldwide as well.

x3!

My bank accounts are at my SO's bank, and indirectly I work for DuPont, so what products do I buy? Duh, products by DuPont. So what if a DuPont based paint is $1-$2 more expensive, you've got to support those that support you...

^ Toyota? I would have guessed toyota to have enough money that they could pay their employee's to buy BMW's...

lol

Again, now, more than ever, you've got to be wise with your purchasing decisions, think of where your money is REALLY going.
