Time to get these forum names correct

There needs to be an E90 only forum.
It seems with the coming of the new coupes there has
been a LOT of speculation and information that confuses people,
and they end up making comments that are not clear.
Some will speak of the "new 335i" and say they are happy they bought a "325i" instead of the outgoing "330".
That makes no sense because any "outgoing" 330 would be an E46 not an E90. There has been no word on the E90 330i going anywhere, yet.

I suggest we have an E90/E91 325/330/? forum and then separate
E92/E93 forums.

Seems BMW is trying to become MB with all these new models.

I am going to have to disagree somewhat.... the E90 sedan, E91 touring, E92 coupe and E93 convertible are all part of the 'E90' family - platform-wise.

ditto. E91, 2 and 3, although different, are all branches of the E90 tree.

what the hell are you smoking. the different models have been around since BMWs early days.

Obviously you are not a BMW enthusiast.

They are part of the 3 series, yes, but with BMW having so many variations on numbers and engines, it would add clarity to what the hell people are saying and talking about. People are posting about replacing the 330i when in fact the E90 330i is not be replaced. The E46 330ci is being replaced.
The 325i will become the 328i is the E46 325ci.
There seems to be a lot of BMW newbies on these forums and are not keeping things straight.

Frankly, owning an E90 330i sedan, I think an E92 335i turbo coupe is pretty removed from my experience. Besides, I'm not saying remove them from this place, I'm suggesting that if I want to read about those cars I click on that forum.

Ok, I'm not an enthusiast. Yeah, you're right.

I posted my question to see if others may feel this way.
I didn't post to gather insult and idiotic commentary.
If it's not a good idea, then it's not, but it's just a question and suggestion.
This wasn't a call for flamebait.

There is so much overlap -- most of the features, diys, etc. are shared among the E90/1/2/3, so separate lists would not be smart IMO.

Can't we all just get along

This forum is big enough to fit the growing e90 family. A lot of issues/topics are central/common. Newbies in turn will get with the program and use the appropriate E9X codes when referring to their new cars and in bringing up bodystyle-specific issues/topics...older members will lead by example. After all we are a community of fastidious and OCD enthusiasts

This forum, although called "E90Post.com" will encompass all E9x variations. There is much overlap as others have said. For example, much of the DIY's for the E90 will also work for the E92/E93. Plus, in the end they're all 3-series cars.

Your suggestions are always appreciated though.

I totally agree with Jason. For all intents and purposes, this forum could have been called "TheNewBMW3.com." We're discussing the new 3-series in all its permutations. Let's not get hung up on semantics.
