i bet it is a fun little car, but i agree it is pretty ugly, especially the front and the side of it. Looks like it belongs in a circus.

To put it into perspective: the 135i price is like buying a 4gb iPhone, for the same amount as the 8gb iPhone.....

Base prices

128- $28,600
328- $35,300

Difference: $6700

135- $34,900
335i- $40,800

Difference: $5900

You're entitled to your opinion, but in this case, your opinion is retarded. So I'd suggest doing the .2 seconds of research needed to make yourself not look like a retard. Both 1 series variants are cheaper than the comparable 3 series variants. Period. You're paying an average of over $6k less, base, to get an uglier, slightly faster BMW.

The 328i and 135i are priced the same. Performance wise, the 328i is not even remotely close to the 135i. Sure, the 328i has better looks, but for people that don't care as much about looks, the 135i is a no-brainer over the 328i.

And yes, I do think the 1 series is ugly too, but I give it respect where it's due. It's a great car and priced VERY reasonably for what you get.

More like the 335 is like buying an overpriced 4GB iPhone and the 135 is like buying the same 4GB iPhone for less money and putting an ugly case on it.

They have the same engine It does not cost more than a 3 series either. Where are you getting your numbers?

How does it sound? I've read in magazine tests that the exhaust sounds much better than on the 335's. Im also on the fence about its looks, but i think with the right visual enhancements it can look pretty decent. Performance wise it should kill everything in its category.

And you work for a dealership?

Agreed, but you expect too much from people. There is a kid who just paid 1000 over invoice for his 135i at $38,825 ED. Most of e90poster use 3 series math, which is take a fully loaded 1 series and subtract it by the lowest bargain price on an e90 sedan. Well, the inverse is true right? I just configured a similarly optioned e92 335i with the buyer's configurations and the price is $48,700. Is 335i coupe worth $10,000 more than a 1 series with the same engine and similarly optioned?

Here's his option:
Black Sapphire + Coral Red Leather!!
Comfort Access
PDC
Navigation
BMW Assist
Premium hi-fi
ipod and USB
ZSP

$38,825 ED

The 3-door 1ers are all over Europe and Australia, and unless they're clean or modded they're only really average at best. Not ugly by any means mind you, just not a looker. I'd still buy it though if I was in the market for hot hatches. RWD ftw.

That price is certainly the exception, not the norm. Most I have seen post on 1addicts are MSRP to maybe $500 under MSRP. My dealer wont budge off of sticker. Neither will 5 other dealerships I called. The gap between the 335i and 135i pricing really gets small when you figure most dealers are willing to negotiate a lot on the E90/92 335i. Plus you throw in incentives like 3.9% financing for the 335i, and you just end up getting much more value. I am sure in 8-12 months, it will be easier to get a 135i at less than sticker. I really like the 135i, but I moved to considering the 335i now just based on dealers refusal to negotiate on the price.
