You need to switch to the white Advanced Group A, or you will be wanting to kill yourself in the conga train. Just follow one of us for the first session.

Just went with Edge Addicts yesterday, ran 2:30.1 via Aim solo in my business partner's 08 E92 M3 6MT, stock engine with suspension, stoptechs, aero and wheels and pirelli slicks.

I don't really have any notes or tips for this track as it only my 2nd time and I was still learning the track.
Paul, how much of this improvement do you attribute to the aero? You trimmed your wing and dropped your time considerably from day one. I had a good time trying to keep up with you on the track! Jay

I was there in my white e92 too...

I was there for both the DriversEdge and Edge Addict groups in my white e92 too. There were a few of us.

I also did 2:30 on every lap!!! (However, I then still had turn 20 left to do LOL!)

2:30-2:33 is blazing fast in e92...Ah well, if I can't be that fast at least I'm gonna look cool...

Hi Jay, its hard to say, but at COTA too much aero will hurt your time due to long straightaways. After reducing rear wing my times got a lot better. I think for COTA stickier (slicks) tires would be more advantageous than aero IMO.

I was out there trying (unsuccessfully) to keep up with Paul. I have a mineral white E92 with a front splitter #474. That was my car in the last photo of the Jalopnik blog.

Is it safe to say that for COTA, coilovers should be set to full stiff?

That is a similar time to what Dale Rye runs in his E92 M3 on slicks with rear aero. Slicks are huge on a track like COTA.

The 997.2 RS guys are at 2:24 on hohos.

You should have a stiffy when you get on track, yes.

The one difference is that you are all over the rumble strips at COTA versus not getting on it at other tracks. The rumble strips get gradually larger the further you get into them. You will be on them in 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 19, 20 for sure. Don't set it up too stiff.

This is a bucket list event for me so I'll be up for it to say the least. I'll need a good lead-follow for the first session to get used to the track.

16, 17, 18. In the RS you will want to short shift to 4th before the bridge and stay in 4th all the way through those turns. With the taller gearing of the GT3 it can be done in 3rd.

Wow! That's fast! I would love to someday try running slicks, but not sure the wife will approve of me buying a new set of tires for every event.

Agree, I was all over the rumble strips and they are not smooth. Also your suspension needs a little compliance for braking hard at the end of the back straight. That part of the track is a little bumpy and I locked up one of my tires.
