Engine clean

Ever since i purchased my car last October one thing that i hate is how dirty my engine area is. Is it safe to jet wash the engine bay? then i can dress it appropriately.

Use spray engine cleaner, rinse it with a garden hose. Pressure washing the bay isn't advisable.

Garage List
Wrap the alternator with a trash bag before doing anything. I use this stuff. It's expensive but it works great and doesn't harm any under-hood plastics. I don't trust stuff like Gunk or whatever. Spray on cool engine, brush, rinse with LOW PRESSURE water. It did a great job on my old Volvo and my F30.

When you say "engine area" - do you mean the engine itself or the trims or ...? You shouldn't need a power-washer really. There are products which will dissolve oily dirt. The rest is MF clothes and some low pressure water if needed.
