You know, they talked about labor costs rising in China, which makes sense. I can totally see their economy having their own bout with the labor force due to unsafe working environments, low pay, etc...which would create unionizing issues much like we had in the late 1800's to early 1900's. You can only pay these folks crap for so long.

I also believe that if/when this happens - it'll affect everyone. Especially those Walmart shoppers who love their cheap Chinese things.

I don't even want to open the video. Us in the west use the cheap labor and whine when it ends. Next stop for these will be Africa, and after that our way of living is in danger.

I've been trying to save the world all my life, and my way is shopping only things made by adults, and using products I can trace.

My exception are tires. a girl needs her rubber.

Well cheap labor is the result of companys trying to cut cost, to satisfy the shareholders, executives, and CEOs. Also customers want cheaper price tags. So outsourcing was the answer and the Gov did nothing to stop this....who are we to blame but ourselves.

Im just glad the chinese companies are investing their projects back here in America. Here in Massachusetts, the MBTA (mass transportation) just contracted a chinese company to built new trains and they will put a factory in Springfield, MA. Im not sure if this was a proposal from the chinese or was a request from the US to have the factory here...whatever it is, is a great start to rebuilt the economy

Cheap labour isn't cheap anymore.

I've been manufacturing in China for the last 5 years and wages have gone up about 4x compared to when I first started. Can you imagine if let's say your state's minimum wage going from $10/hour to $40/hour in 5 years? A lot of factories have closed down due to this main problem as standard of living continues to rise exponentially in China. Minimum wage has been increased at least once a year. Supply of workers are extremely low as the younger generations are less motivated to work in production. Many workers are seeing growth and opportunities in their own province and refuse to work in the southern provinces anymore. Workers are in extremely high demand which drives their wages up even more regardless of the minimum wages set.

Ask anyone in China and they will tell you its extremely tough to survive when the US/Europeans are still demanding an extremely low price. China is focusing more on domestic production and consumption. In less than 10 years, China is expected to surpass the US as the World's largest economy. No matter what, this will affect the world in terms of purchasing power and cost of living. Cheap shit won't be cheap anymore, it'll just be shit.

At this rate, I'll more or less be out of business within the next 5 years if I do not move my production somewhere else.

Funny how things work. As China continues to grow, manufacturing jobs can now come back to the U.S. I'm sure there's a few layers of Inception there

Still plenty of poor countries with huge, growing populations: Indonesia, Phillipines, Burma, Bangledesh, India, and all of Africa.

But they are all DEMOCRACIES so good luck investing [exploiting] there.. lol
