Oh yeah, Avalon. Bluetooth.
never thought you would use Bluetooth and Avalon in the same sentence huh? Never knew there was a infotainment system that had both an AM/FM cassette deck and Bluetooth?

I am sure new Avalon has it. Just that mine is 1999 model.
One option which all my car doesn't have but 99 Avalon has is the AM/FM Cassette player w/ CD.

it is, just not as useful to me (other than screen resolution).

What I really care about is getting all my carrier's upcoming LTE frequency bands. I use TMobile and the Note 4 is one of the few phones that can connect to their new LTE band 12 700 MHz rollout
Right I've been with tmobile for 12 years now, German based company like BMW, seems when iphone 4 came out with 4s people thought it was 4g, lol. We've only just touched the spectrum of what 4g is really about.

Sim cards, interchangeable batteries, 4G years ago, FaceTime through Google voice without having to be wifi, (new now for ios) and yes many ios say "but we have tango" will with tango you can't use your phone number like Skype you have to have a tango name, what a joke. Flash whole other discussion, now html5 to make up for the lagging ios syatems, APPLE IOS is far behind in time to current technology. There front facing camera technology came out in 1988 for gods sake what's that tell ya!

And the OP says what phone should I buy, duh really? Please anybody prove me wrong with some facts.

How but this one on user interface , Android has tray were apps can be kept out of view, then up to seven screens can be customized with any of those apps in any form or fashion, with IOS all your apps have to be resident on your screens, I could go on and on so forget the rant, if you really don't understand simply what's better, then what's the difference buy Apple most people do .

Make sure you change the color of the vehicle on my signature picture. I don't want to give a wrong impression on the forum that we both share the same lavishing luxury vehicle such as 99' Avalon.

If you live in the city or major urban areas, TMobile gets fantastic LTE speeds and is very consistent.

It's funny, b/c I've only been a customer since 2012 and my first phone was only HSPA+ enabled and I thought that was fast. lol. I was also literally the first to get LTE on TMobile back in late 2012. I had a Note 2, and got the LTE radio activation patch 2 days before LTE official went live in Washington DC metro area. And I tell you what, being the first 1000 or so on a new LTE network with a blazing fast phone is like being able to drive a Ferrari Enzo on a new desert highway. No one in your way, highway to porn.

I'm not an Apple hater, I'm actually an investor and have 2 iPads, but the Note 4 is 2 years ahead of the iPhone 6 Plus.

Sure, if you're an Apple lifer, homer, or "ecosystem" guy, you might have some points on why you want to stick with Apple.

However if you want to be objective, the Note is just a flat out better phone.

Run on sentence time: Note 4 has a better screen, better resolution, bigger screen, more functionality, expandable memory with SD card, S Pen, better or at least equal camera, easily better front facing camera, more customizable software and with Android 5.0 better software, TRUE multitasking, multi-window, the back button, better in all specs if that matters to you, widgets and more cool factor so your phone doesn't look like everyone else, and it's more durable.

I do think Apple makes quality products, but their unwillingness to innovate and their tendency to copy functions Android has had for years (Large screens, NFC, cloud backup, etc has just gotten too annoying.

And don't tell me about speed tests from Youtube that show the iPhone is faster at opening Apple optimized apps and 52 tap sequences. The iPhone does make good use of its speed, but it's technically lacking and the Note is faster in real world application, in my experience. If it's not faster, it's AT least as fast. Remember, the Note 4 display has like 80% more pixels than the 6 plus, so it needs more power because it has more functionality.

Note 4 all day and again, I've been happy with Apple in the past. They are just not the best anymore.
Just noticed your post, awesome review in short!!. But for some reason most IOS fan boys would never listen no matter how hard you'd try to present simple facts like you did. lol

Their front facing camera technology came out 20 years ago, talk about behind in times.

Make sure you get the flip case with your note 4, back of case becomes back of phone, and smart view front window allows many functions without opening cover, that would be reason alone.

So I got it in white! Coming from iphone 6, long time IOS user, my initial thoughts:

-android learning curve is steep compared to IOS, but I loved learning a whole new system

-The screen is amazing, clearly better than apple retina display

-screen and phone size are just right for my big hands

-camera is better than IP6 camera, although I had no complaints with IP6 camera

-pictures are crisp and not over saturated

-the Back key is such a convenience

-stylus is neat but still learning it

-battery life is good and could probably last longer than a day, but I have a habit of charging every night when I go to bed anywaysÂ*

-the charger is SUPER fast

-had to download Adobe reader to view pdf in email, I never had to do that on iPhoneÂ*

-had to download VLC to view videos sent in text message

-haven't experienced any lag or anything significant

-love privacy mode so I can hide files, didn't have that in IOSÂ*

-I'll probably never go back to a smaller screen

-speaker is loud and clear, sounds tinny and low on bass though, but I don't watch movies or listen to music using the speaker. All I care about is call clarity and speakerphone and it does the job just fineÂ*

-fingerprint scanner is good but not as good as apple, so I just use a pattern swipe for unlock. It worked 90% of the time

Questions:

-what program do I backup my phone to, like what is android's Itunes?Â*

-i have no problems with TouchWiz as of now, but what do you suggest for launchers? Nova, google, etc.Â*

-how do I tap to go to top of screen?

Overall I'm happy I made the switch to android. Apple makes great products, but innovation has tanked recently IMO. I disagree with reviews where they pit the 6P vs N4, because the N4 actually uses screen for multi tasking and productivity, whereas the 6P is just a bigger IP6. If the 6P had more features and actually took advantage of bigger screen, then I would consider it a true competitor. It seems like a missed opportunity for Apple to do more.

Thank you to all for your advice! Pardon any Grammer mistakes.

For best results when wondering what to use on that phone always select Google on anything, for the most part if it not as good it will be soon better.

Your Gmail account backs up all your apps, if you choose to make certain things resident on just the phone itself and not the Micro SD i.e. contacts then you would use later the Samsung transfer app, real simple and you put that app on the old phone then on the new.

All of your music needs to be uploaded to google play music. Its more open than that Itunes crap. You can cast via bluetooth to your tv and to your BMW sound is awesome. Then next time you buy a TV set like the Samsung 7100, then there does not need to be a setup on your tv or phone for Casting, its recognized automatically. Use the IR blaster to control all your TV's too, as long as you have your phone who cares who cares where the remote is. As far as taping to get to top of screen, just refresh the screen. Not a button I know of. If you get the Samsung 50.00 cover and you bluetooth to your car, you can control the music from the face of the closed case its awesome.

you don't have to use any app to transfer music. you can just plug it in and copy and paste files to whatever folder you want.

you can use an app if you want to but it's not a requirement. i personally just copy and paste.

I have always owned iPhone but the picture quality sucks compared to the Galaxy. I'm considering switching for that reason alone! May even leave att too depends who can give a better deal.

If you want to use a backup your gmail acct and google drive can do all that for you, from pictures to documents to contacts and everything inbetween. The google drive is kind of like a personal dropbox.
The nova launcher is the best IMHO, I was always a huge apex guy but the notifications do not work correctly with 4.4 system. I have since moved to nova and go tthe premium edition and everything works. You can resize all the icons and take away the names, you name it it can be done.
the tap to top of screen is in the Gesture settings.

Flash player works on this phone with 4.4 also, you have to use dophin browser and a modified version of the flash player.apk PM if you want it and I will send it to you.
Here is one for everyone, most corporate exchange servers block the install of the flash player because it is a non authorized app in the market. After installing the altered flash.apk and dolphin browser use a app called Touchdown HD for your exchange email. It is 20 bucks but it is one of the only apps that use a internal exchange verification packet to allow the server to have all its security crap fro your work but it stays inside the app and does not actually install the admin status on the phone therefore not blocking the flash player. We all know why we need the flash player anyway. LOL
Here is a screen shot of my home screen with all the icons resized and everything else changed with the Nova launcher

the 6+ will take advantage of the larger screen, you need to give developers time to develop...

Iphones is a great product, I've never had any issues with any I've owned. They're simple and user intuitive, hence they sell in the millions. I just believe that they're behind in features, even if they want to release the same features at their own pace. my iPhone always met my minimal needs, but that was it. The phones ceased to excite me, hence the Note 4.

I feel the same way the Note 4 is superior to all phones it seems to date. But it sure is funny don't tell that to an IOS guy, they never seem to care. Speed and performance make a difference in our cars, but speed and performance means nothing to an IOS lover. Of course like you mentioned the IOS platform does seem easier for my 70 year old mom, but c'mon man, really.

Question: when I text a video, it says file is too large and it compresses it, but my recipient says quality of video is poor. Any solutions?

When I texted videos on my old iPhone, I never had this issue.

When I texted videos on my old iPhone, I never had this issue.
iphone's use imessage which sends media over the data network instead of using the american standard mms.

if you send a video from your iphone to another phone that isn't, you will get the same unfortunate quality. mms sucks imo.

there are a lot of other options but i personally would just send a dropbox link since you have a free account with them now.
