What's a C-Segment, and can I order a frog colored Mini?

The best news here is that the 2-series Gran Coupe will remain RWD. This was a wise choice, and one wonders why it was ever up for consideration.

X6 & X4 - I just don't get it. Lacks sedan performance and almost no utility.
Lack of awesome wagons - BMW seems to leave this up to Audi and MB. Even the 3 series wagon only comes in 28i form.
Honestly, I despair...

There is no 435i GT, there is a 335i GT, and there is a 435i Gran Coupe... You ask Why.. I ask Why Not? What is your point exactly.. you're afraid of choice...? What is so hard to understand?

X6 & X4, done to death... "Almost no Utility" why do they have to excel in utility? What don't you understand about people wanting some of the characteristics of a cross over, but not need the flat back shape?? Is it that hard to comprehend?

Lack of Awesome wagons?...'Muricans won't buy enough of them, blame your narrow minded countrymen.

Amazing to see how so many BMW fans only want BMW to make the models that they feel make sense, regardless of the actual sales demand for the models they don't like.

Is it primarily the clueless American,?

Is it the person that calls themself an " old school " BMW owner ?

Or is it just BMW fans around the world ?

Either way, I agree with you. I am tired of these so called " enthusiasts " that feel they know more about what it is to make a BMW than BMW AG.

They claim " dilution of the brand ". As if that actually makes any sense.

First internal update on the Active Tourer in its second week on the market shows a spark that is catching on fire.

Interesting information.
But only 2 things about BMW worry me:
1. Is RWD really that difficult to capitalize (monetize)?
2. Audi "S" are faster than BMW competitors.

Same here. Reminds me of movie sequels where some have numbers, some have just titles, some skip numbers, etc. like Rambo. You just give up and say, "I'm watching Rambo."

This is really not a bad thing provided BMW keeps the ///M and N55 2/3/4 series cars good since those are what the enthusiasts buy for the most part. It's like how Cayenne sales allow Porsche to make fantastic hardcore 911s.

If BMW's core enthusiast cars start to slip it will be the downfall of the brand.

BMW's flagship sports car has a 3 cylinder engine with a fake exhaust note and now people are worried about the direction of the brand?

The model proliferation is bewildering.

It would be cool if BMW could take this idea to its logical conclusion. mass produce personalisation.

Build to order. Don't build to fill a niche. Build to suit the individual.

Been testing it with the new I3 petrol, great engine with a good sound.
As for the AT, i liked it.
Great interiour, both look and quality.
The outside is not my cup of thea though, but as a nr 2 car in the city, it makes sense, more so than a 1, 2 and 3 series, because of the fairly sensible price/size it offers.

Never mind all the concerns over numbering, it's great news that sense seems to prevail and the 2er coupe/cabriolet models will be staying RWD!

Here is another view of the 2er Gran Turismo.
Which previews the potential for the 2er GT as well as an exclusive look for the new Gran Turismo models of the 5er and the 3er.

The more angular appearance forgoes today's more rounded look for a more cohesive coupe look. Body sculpture will be angular and chiseled to provide a modern and fresh look with exceptional stand out details.

Current GT traits remains such as the 5er with its first class cabin and semi-command seating position. The car has a slight increase due to being accommodated on the 5er Li model from China. This allows for a more sleeker rear end. The rear lights will be placed higher and they are more stretched across the rear but reduced in height , a trait of upcoming BMW models.

The 5er GT will be shown as a new Concept car and will demonstrate one of the benefits of the BMW and Toyota relationship. A new Fuel Cell, for increased Efficiency.

I'm not as much disappointed as much as I am confused.

2 series:

Coupe
Gran Coupe (praying we still get this, as the 1 series is ****ed)
X2
Convertible
Gran Turismo

I probably even missed one or a few. Do we really need a full fleet of options for each model designation? Soon there will be an X2-X7, that's 6 SAV options..

It's just you. BMW is in business to make money. Kind of like how everyone thought Porsche was diluting the brand by building an SUV (now 2 of them) and a 4 door sedan and how the brand was losing its way.

Now it's been having some of the best fiscal quarters it's ever seen...

Weird how that works...

If companies listened to self-claimed "enthusiasts" innovation would be dead and these companies would be stagnant.

Amazing you don't drive Toyota. Selling 10 million vehicles in 12 months, shows they really know very well what the customer wants. Yet those so called "enthusiasts" always keep yelling for a new Supra.

Exactly. That is why Toyota doesn't build Supra anymore. Look how much money they make, more than any other car company in the world.
