Using Airplay with iDrive 7, how do you select the apps that you want on the screen?
I have iDrive 7 in my Z4, when using Airplay I have certain apps that appear on my display which I never use and others that I would like to add to the screen.
I never would use Podcasts, Panera Bread, News, Audio Books , Teams and Settings while driving, how do you edit the screen to remove them and then select which Apple apps I want to use? |

I have an iPhone 12 Pro running on 15.6.1and I just tried that. I went to Settings-General-Carplay and it only shows the the two vehicles I use it on (Z4 & 228i) which both have iDrive 7. I didn't see any way to include/exclude or rearrange the order.

Try it when you’re connected in the car.

OK, I figured it out, after Settings-General-Carplay I clicked on one of my two vehicles and was then allowed to add, remove or rearrange. Thanks!!!
By the way, is there an Apple compass app that will work in CarPlay? I would like to have a split screen on my screen with Waze on one side and a large compass on the other. |

That’s a good question. I know the built-in compass app doesn’t show up. Not sure about a third party one.
I believe if you used Apple Maps there’s an option to turn the compass on in the map display. I’m not sure about Waze as I have not used that, but maybe try poking around in it to see? |

I don’t actually think you can have 2 apps running side by side in CarPlay now that I think about it.

Yeah, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. In my wife’s X1, CarPlay doesn’t take up the whole screen. There’s room for something else to be displayed, but it just displays a dumb CarPlay logo and won’t let you add anything else.
