They said the 335 im looking at was built in oct 2010- and does include bluetooth streaming- does this sound correct? Wow sounds so old (5 years old already technically.)

Only if the nav option/tech option is on the car. The LCI in 2009 was the first with BT streaming IIRC.

As floyd stated, it must have the navi for bluetooth streaming, otherwise you are SOL...I know because I have a 2011 (Oct 2010 build) with no navi and bluetooth streaming no worky.

HMM. My 2010 has the nav and bluetooth. Going to have to check if it has the streaming option.

Bummer if you don't have it. If you want to add streaming in your car you have several options.
- Add BMW hardware. This will be the most expensive. - BT dongle that connects to your AUX port Look for one that specifically states it supports aptX codec for best possible BT audio quality. Like the Kinivo BTC450/455. - AirPlay if you use Apple devices. Search for my thread on AirEnabler. There are other threads about doing this with an AirPort Express. Good luck.

A2DP bluetooth functions started showing up in the 2011 models.
Have an e90 with nav, no bluetooth streaming, easy enough fix with a cheap usb transmitter from amazon plugged in to my arm rest plug and aux port

Can you still use the car's bluetooth for phone functions when this is connected to your phone?

Get the VIN and plug it into this link:
http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html Make sure it has the option codes contained in the following text: Making wireless phone calls requires a Bluetooth interface SA 644 or SA 633 in the car. Wireless transmission of music stored on the smartphone is handled via Bluetooth Audio Streaming from Connected Drive. This function is available in the following cars / with the following equipment: All BMW models from build year 07/2013 with special option SA 609 (Professional navigation) or All BMW 1 Series from build year: 07/2011 and BMW 3 Series from build year: 11/2011 with special option SA 609 (Professional navigation Hope that helps you and if that car are you paying $33k for make sure it has Premium Package, Sport or M Sport Package etc. It should be loaded at that price. |
