I came from owning two Mercedes, two heavily modified Audi's, and now I'm in what will soon be a lightly modified BMW. Guess what? They're ALL pieces of shit in their own way. God I can't stand fanboi's...

Then again, BMW has been branded with the biggest amount of asshole drivers, so really that's not the most valid argument.

I know this because I am an asshole, on BMW's behalf, the car came second though.
Same here.

The only VAG in my stable is relatively reliable as well..., aside from it "breaking down" for 6/7 straight days each month....

A little fluid leak is known to happen and nothing to be concerned about.

All of my VWs have been fairly reliable, my 335 on the other hand, most unreliable car I ever owned.

Too funny. You almost got me to spit out the water I was drinking when I read that.

I never thought we've moved this topic to reliable VAG's. I don't even know where to begin to judge a VAG's reliability. I think we're long overdue for one of Billup's paintings.

Sometimes that deception is intentional, and sometimes it's simply pure ignorance, they've been brought up in a certain kind of environment, as have their equally lucky peers, and have nothing to compare it to; they just dont know any better.

In college I knew a kid who had a very privileged upbringing, school, books, dorm, food, car, etc. was all paid for by rich dad who was a senior bank executive, and during summers the kid had a guaranteed job at the bank where he was paid a VERY generous amount for doing basic admin stuff, nothing requiring smarts or hard work.

Since he had no other expenses, that kid would use that money to buy nice electronic toys, and would insist to anyone who asked that he was not entitled, and bought that stuff, it wasnt given to him. It wasn't literally given to him the same way as the new Camaro his dad bought him, so he really thought that distinction should earn him respect.

He had almost no appreciation that many others had to use what money they earned in the summer (from a job they actually had to interview for, gasp!) to buy necessities like books, transit passes, etc.

Lots of kids nowadays who were born on 3rd base, manage to make the short sprint to home under their own power, and insist their run represents the same effort and accomplishment as someone who had to start by swinging at a pitch, and then crossing all the bases.
I'm telling the truth, it was not uncommon even in my time that a college classmate had a Porsche or Mercedes, purchased new. One summer I had both in my driveway, it was like take my pick on which to drive to my summer job. These kids went home to Europe or Asia for the summer.

I asked my dad you know I don't get it, a few friends bought their first homes as soon as they got married at 26, how did they manage to save up so much for the down payment they've only been working less than 4 years (back then houses were cheap so we're talking like 80-100k). My dad answered with 2 words, "Rich parents."

I'm not saying there's anything wrong at all about being born into a good family with means. But you don't have to try to act like you did it all on your own. That's an insult to your family.

At the ripe age of 23, from all the art my fingers haven't been the same as they used to, I hope you approve of this latest piece.

Wo said I was a BMW fanboy? I think the Japanese build better cars than either VW or BMW, it's just the current lineup lacks imagination.

VWs are complete shitboxes, I've never saw a compelling reason to recommend one to anyone but my worst enemy.

I wouldn't recommend an 8-year-old e90 either to be honest. Talk about lacking imagination.

Oh, tell me again how the TFSI engines were of sound design principles, same goes for the N54. The Japanese knew of direct injection issues way before the Germans even began to impliment it into the majority of their vehicles. This still doesn't address how VW's AWD system still suck, how VW's car are still crap with intrument clusters that begin to crap out in 3 years, various electrical problems and horrid reliablity.

Audi keeps all the VW issues and doubles the price on the same product. Have fun with your VW Golf A6.

It was a manual RWD sedan= what Japanese product besides the G35/7 meets that criteria?

It sounds like you're pissed that your drive an 8-year old base model 3-series as opposed to an A4. I cannot help you with that son.

What does initial quality have to do with dependability? Interesting indeed.

Got me there skipper. I'm jealous of people driving a base model VW Golf.
Why do I aspire to own nice things and have money when I could have picked up a heavily depreciated VW product to show my superiority on a car forum. That will teach me.
