Have Dog - Will Travel - Does your dog travel with you? What kind of dogs do we have?
Just curious as to how many of us take our dogs with us to work, etc...
I have a French Bulldog, "Clementine" who goes most places with me. She's great in the car (aside from eating an $800 seatbelt once). I only had pit-bulls for many years, now, the Frenchie is my dog of choice. I've never had such a charismatic fun dog. What kind of dogs do other Bimmerpost members have? Do they go with too?

Frenchies are my second choice after Boston terriers. Here is Mo and he loves car rides.

I have an ESS(English Springer Spaniel) that we love the hell out of. He often rides in the Saab, but one of the reasons I bought leatherette is so he can ride in the car without me worrying about the leather.

Just got back from a long weekend in the mountains with the wife and our two dogs. We specifically planned the entire thing with them in mind, from where we stayed, to dog-friendly hikes, to restaurants that allowed dogs on the patio. We do this every labor day but we've taken them on many other road trips.
And mine are with me every day at work.... I work from home. |

I have the privilege to be supervised by a Tibetan Spaniel! His name is Tibbie Tibbington and he goes many places with us (when he is not too busy with his job of couch-chair-pillow sleeping). He loves road trips and car rides in general and every year he flies with us to Germany. He also is a therapy dog and comes to work with me on occasion.

I've got two rescue pups, an English Bulldog and a...well, we dont really know what she is but we still love her. Anyway they love going for rides. I always take them out running errands so now every time I grab my keys they run to sit by the door so I can put their leashes on. Since I just went from an E90 to my 1 they're a little confused as to the lack of doors right now since they usually ride in the back with the windows down.
Edit: Here's some photos of their little squished faces. Gizmo Frank Last edited by Carmen SanDiego; 09-15-2013 at 10:05 AM.. |

Hungarian Vizslas
We have two Hungarian Vizslas.
They mostly ride in our MINI Clubman or Tacoma but occasionally they ride in the back of the sportwagon.

I have 2 female Dobermans (Lilly 10 weeks and Hannah 18 months)...if just one of them is coming then they ride in the E92 or my Z32 but if they're both coming I take the MDX.

This is Penelope Pitstop (Penny), she's part sheltie and rat terrier, and loves going for rides. She'll actually stand with her front paws on the armrest, so her head is level with mine.
We also dog-sit my in-law's King Charles Cavalier Spaniel (Patrick), and when he gets in the car, he finds a spot, and can't be moved. Here he's giving me 1st, 3rd, and 5th gears. |

Great looking Vizslas...the Vizsla is one of the dogs I am seriously considering, along with the Rhodesian Ridgeback
Been a lab guy, but looking for something different. What's their personalities like? Water? fetch? Noise? Intelligence?

Great video on the breed: http://animal.discovery.com/tv-shows...eos/vizsla.htm Blog about our Vizsla: http://www.ophale.com/bodhi_tales/ Vizsla Forum: http://www.vizslaforums.com Vizsla's are not for everyone... They are a very energetic dogs that will run a marathon with you and then go back and fetch the keys... Water: Both of our Vizlas swim, one of our dogs can out swim me. Fetch: You better invest in a chuckit, because you will be throwing that ball all day long Noise: Watch dog, like a Labrador Retriever, I've adopted two labs before the vizslas. Very similar except the Vizsla have exuberant greetings and they must have soft toy in their mouth when they say hello Intelligence: One of our Vizsla is the smartest dog I've ever known... Stubborn at times... The other is similar intelligence as our previous labs. Scent trained him in hours while all the other dogs weeks later are still trying to "get it". He can find anything I hide in the field by scent and he does not give up if can't find it right away. I had him days later go back out in a spot to find something he couldn't find initially. He finds tennis balls anywhere I bring him because he loves to fetch... If you have the time for a Vizsla, and like to do outdoor activities with your dog, then you found your next best friend. In comparison to labs, vizslas are an order of magnitude more energetic. Think greyhound fast with the stamina to last at top speeds for hours. But they are nut cases in comparison to a stable lab. Vizslas are bored with obedience training... However, when at home they are couch potatoes and "Demonstrably Affectionate". They need to be with their family and don't do well in kennels. Vizslas are pointer and retriever. So they can be silent and still to explosive fast. I would get another Vizsla over a lab in hart beat! However, I can see when I get old, the Vizsla would be too much dog... Hope this helps!

Beautiful dog man. I've only gotten two tiny scratches about a cm long around my iDrive control from my pup getting frisky while getting into the car. It was from when he was much younger and his nails hadn't been clipped in a while. Plus if I get a little scratch here and there from getting the joy of rolling with my dog then that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I love my car, but I love my dog more.
