[N0Chill 335i]

So today after work I was heading to go get my car washed before this car meet tonight. As I'm heading down I notice this black e90 328i. It was clean, had very minimal mods like tints and smoked blacklines. They were kinda driving like idiots but whatever. We ended up driving along the same route for about 10 minutes or so and we so happened to keep passing by one other do to the flow of traffic. I noticed there were 4 young guys in the car, they looked foreign but I couldn't decipher exactly what. Anyway, about 2 minutes before I reach my destination we stop in traffic and we're side by side, the passenger rolls down the window and looks over at with me a smirk "is that an M3?"
Now clearly my car is not an M3 and his entire tone was condescending. It seemed like he thought I was some poser because I'm debadged with quad tips that I would tell someone I drove and M3. I told him "No, it's 335i." He looked shocked and said "It's a 335i huh?" and I said "Yup, 335i." Before we started moving again I noticed 1 of the guys in the backseat recording the conversation with his phone and I just drove off.

Like why the hell does it always have to be a competition or dick measuring when it comes to other BMW drivers? Specifically 3 series owners. It's like they can't just pay another guy a compliment, it's always some snobby attitude in these kinds of exchanges. I live in DC and I see plenty of 3 series cars and it's always the same thing. But then I'll see an M3 or an M5 or a Vette, etc; and they will give me a thumbs up or even carry on dialogue about our cars. In fact as I'm heading home I notice this clean ass G37S Coupe. Gray with black Vossen CV3s, tint, debadged with absolutely perfect stance and fitment. We pull up next to each other at the light and just started complimenting each others car. No hate, just 2 enthusiasts appreciating the work in another car.

Anyway... I'm done with my rant. I know it's not just me because I've seen tons of posts like this on here, it's just sad. Here are some pics of my baby after the wash.

you mentioned 4 guys sitting in the same car. Sounds like they're just some immature kids. i'm pretty sure you can get that from any make driver. not to mention that your car looks nothing like an M3....thus making me believe that his question was indeed an honest question. he simply doesn't know any better.

Oh that's nothing fly... I had a couple of assholes the other day next to me at a light with an old ass 328 from like 1999.

I had my top down and of course they were looking over at me with these dumbass looks on their faces.

Suddenly the driver pulls off, cuts me off, and the passenger gives me the finger through the sunroof.

Mind you, if I didn't have some place to go, I would've made them pay dearly for their bullshit... the tri-state has the biggest concentration of assholes in the world.

Reading the replies in here are awesome. Lol. I know I'm not alone in this. Thanks for all the positive feedback on the car, she's coming along nicely. New wheels should be here next week. It's an ever evolving project and I love it.

They're Sonic SC7s in brushed aluminum. 19x8.5F 19x10R with 12mm spacers all around. They grew on me...

I hated this color at 1st but it's really grown on me. I'll be doing a color change by the end of summer more then likely though. Color very similar to Space Gray, that's my faves.

The 335i's have ONE badge so it can't be "it looks cleaner" thing.
Wear the 335 badge proud, IMO it was the first non-M BMW worth paying bmw money for.

I've debadged all of my previous cars. Just something I picked up from the JDM world I guess. I like the symmetry maybe... idk. It's just always looked somewhat cleaner to me. I was going to blackout the badges but I didn't like the look so I removed it immediately.
