I like this concept overall. Externally, it looks better than some of the current designs (ie 7 series). I have some reservations about the new iDrive. Love to see more info will be on the windshield but looks challenging to use on the move. Also, hopefully in production the steering wheel will be rounder and it will have real buttons.

I like it, so many retro design elements from BMWs of the past especially from the 70s era. Love the shark nose, big open airy bright greenhouse. Has more of an upright stance just like the 2002.
If you really know BMW, the Neue Klasse concept should be admired. It’s a return to BMW classic design. I'm curious how the new kidneys and this holographic element will make it into production. The light elements are obviously not strong enough to light the road. Would love to see a render with the "headlight" portion of it with halos or half halos like on the current G80/G82

This concept is....interesting. To me the front-end is new, exciting, and looks cool where the rear looks like a lazy attempt at being 'retro-futuristic'. Those seats look incredibly not comfortable. A complete absence of design for the dash makes my brain shut off in boredom. While the Panoramic Vision is a unique new addition, utility wise it seems pretty pointless and could become distracting for who's driving. Also, following behind this car at night could get annoying with its over abundance of taillight so hopefully they tone it down a notch for production. Overall, it's very clear which clientele base BMW's going after with this one.

I have a feeling, not only roof but side windows will be fixed. Only lower part will be possible to open. They want us to drive and travel in glass box without option to open the window or roof. What is going on here?!

I think the outside is attractive, good shapes and lines and a nod to the past. The interior colors are cool but I just don't understand the lack of dash design or controls. They're literally just pasting in the Model 3 design that was first revealed 6 years ago now. Empty dash with a center screen and no buttons.
Why not try something original? Blend the current and future better? Why get rid of the display in front of the driver when you JUST bothered to put very useful things there like Apple Maps? Why not try small discrete screens/switches in useful areas to control isolated things? Moving every button to a screen is not "minimalist", you just MOVED it from a useful place to a less useful, buried place. It's frustrating that so many manufacturers are just copying this boring look and expecting people to be excited by it. |
