Ok, the Buzzken exhaust and tuned ECU are installed. Now I'm seeing a CEL. Using Bimmerlink, the codes are as follows:https://photos.app.goo.gl/FKAsrKn86XCqnHWb9
I was under the impression that the ECU tune was going to turn off these sensors. Am I missing something here? |

Correct, the tune should have taken care of that.

This is an interesting question. I’ve used my magical mobile-photoshop abilities to illustrate my current sensor/plug configuration.
Pic of current situation: https://photos.app.goo.gl/wuD83LGSFSDQY42D9 Colors are from left to right: - White = open; was sensor connector from middle of DPF - Blue = connected to current O2 sensor - Green = open; was connector for DPF - Yellow = connected to current EGT probe - Red = didn’t touch it; remained connected https://photos.app.goo.gl/BvQt3VVM4z2TDzdv9 Input is welcome, as always. |

But the codes are for the Particulate Matter sensor.
What did you do with that?

2014 328D rwd with Mission Performance stage 2 tune and Buzzken DP and mid installed. Removed all unnecessary sensors, modules, and the def tank. done on 12/14/18 after flashing codes P2047 and P20BD came on after I cycled the ignition. I can clear them and they will stay off till ignition is cycled again. Waiting to hear back from Mission Performance. Other than that really enjoy the tune. With the oe muffler its sounds stock inside the car while driving, when you stab the gas with the windows down you can now hear the turbo and a nice low tone. Wish the Buzzken had better instructions or something beside 3 B/W pictures that aren't legible lol

So I'm really on the fence about this. I have a piggy back that is a pretty solid bump in performance. But if I do too much, I get limp mode. I don't care about CEL's as long as I know it's not a real problem/issue. But one thing that I will say of concern is soot. At WOT I don't really care how much coal I roll. But under normal conditions, how much soot do you see?
Like my chipped 6.0L Powerstroke. Under normal acceleration and driving, it doesn't produce much of anything for smoke. When I hit the skinny stick, it will just about black out the sun. I really like the numbers they are posting for the improvements...I believe it's higher than what I currently get when I turn my chip up, which is night and day difference over stock...(BMW screwed up with the existing OEM power.)

Deleting is overrated.
A properly calibrated tune will make the same power without damage, vs. a deleted car. A good tune can work with those items, at the same power levels. The same size dpf and catalysts flow without being restrictive, even when used on the biturbo euro 325d.

I don't see why US tuners are recommending/insisting on the deletion of emissions equipment (presumably, specifically, the DPF) for a regular remap, i.e. not crazy increases. My 330d has all the OEM hardware in place and is making 350bhp/525lbft, around 90bhp above the published stock output. Zero problems over the 50K+ miles that it's been in this state of tune. The DPF is there for a very good reason, and there's really no need to remove it if the tuner knows what they are doing.

My point above was from a performance point of view. However, I will briefly mention that BMW's 2nd generation of diesel emissions equipment has been far more reliable than the first gen in the USA. No SCR tank issues as the early gen, and much better control, as well as very low emissions levels. The 328d is certified ULEVII, with emissions levels actually meeting SULEV guidelines (minus the required 120k mile warranty on all components). There are far less issues, and while it's not perfect, most if not all the major problem areas have been covered by recalls or extended warranties. This includes: -the EGR cooler poor internal welds (recall/fix) -NOx sensors are covered to 120k miles 10yr -particulate matter sensor is now covered Now, where I live, people find blowing heavy black smoke from their tailpipes an amusement, so I will not go into that great debate. People that want to delete will. The equipment has definitely improved, however.

I just got the stage 2 from DUDMD and its made my 328d wagon much more enjoyable. He even gave me the stage 2 for the stage 1 price!
He said to just wait until something goes wrong with the EGR, SCR, and DPF system, then delete them. |

Hey guys, just want let you guys know about tuning. When going with the full deleted some tuner will not set all your monitor system to be ready. Which in turn will not pass emission testing. Beware some of these tuner pulling a fast on of you. Save yourself from getting 2 tune.
