Does anyone have the KermaTDI tune with the Xhp trans tune? Wondering if these compliment each other well.

How hard is the DPF delete install? The weather here this weekend will be cold. Is it something I can knock out in an hour or two or do I need to set aside a whole weekend?

I can safely say I think you should budget 5-10 to do this job. The worst part is that there is no documentation anywhere on this job. I will comment that you do not need to remove the engine mount to pull the DPF as is required on the 335d, which is nice. |

Well homies,
Its been done... As far as I know, I just became the first 328d to go hybrid turbo. I was told by a few that it wouldn't be possible, and even some manufacturers of turbos in Europe said the same. I received the IHI Turbo (56mm) on Friday, installed Saturday, and just finished the tune/logging today. Power band feels so much better as well as delivery of power. Let the wife drive it, and she said the car feels "lighter". I see what she means as it seems it doesn't feel as winded when getting on it. Turbo was around $1k shipped via FexEx International. I have posted additional details in the BMW USA Diesels Group in Facebook. I definitely feel it was worth it overall! https://staging.streamable.com/pg7hcu https://staging.streamable.com/hi376x Cheers and Stay Safe All Last edited by TheWalkingDr3ad; 11-26-2020 at 04:22 PM.. The hybrid turbos for the 4cyl I've experienced couldn't keep up boost request at all past 3800rpm, at max duty cycle. It was worse than stock.
Watch those logs. |

Looks good! You're right - looks basically like stock, would not be noticed by an untrained eye. Thank you for sharing!

The highest sodium I've had was 9ppm. This is over 5 reports. How high is yours?

Took the 328D to get dyno'd yesterday. The shop has a mustang dyno that they have nicknamed 'The Heartbreaker', which definitely fits. The shop owner said it would be ~15% correction, which would put me at around 260whp and 428wtq (stock 335d territory)
Either way, I'm happy with the results of the hybrid turbo install! 🍻 Dyno Vid: https://staging.streamable.com/c79qh5 |

It is wheel not sure why its displayed like that. I will eventually get another dyno done because I didn't like starting rpm was set so high. The shop doesn't deal with diesel often apparently, but the price was amazing. It is what it is unfortunately

I'm also kind of surprised the HP pretty much tops out so early at ~3k rpm and doesn't really do anything after that. It basically makes anything rpm above peak not really useful. Can your tuner do anything to keep the HP curve climbing? I'm not convinced Mustang dyno are as "heartbreaking" as everybody claims. I think a lot of people use that as an excuse in general (not saying that you are). When I dyno'd stock on a mustang and dynojet the difference was 3.5%.

Not sure if it will alter much but I set my rpms to limit at 4600 via xhp for manual mode and around 41-4200 for sport. Just feels good to me with those limits Last edited by TheWalkingDr3ad; 12-15-2020 at 09:25 PM.. |
