I suppose there's nothing special about the 1M, E30 M3, E36 M3, E46 M3, E9X M3, CSL, GTS, LTW, Evo I, Evo II, GT, CRT, GTR...a lot of people would beg to differ (myself included). I mean, they're based only on an entry level platform. No point in making these cars perform because they came from an entry model platform, that's elitism at its finest. Turns out these cars are reviewed to be more fun and, in some cases, better than their one or two steps above bigger siblings. No, this is not about cannibalizing cars in a not-entry-level-platform. I do hope you're not like this when looking at people who you deem beneath you.

We should all just have fun with our cars, appreciate/hate other cars for what they are about.

Point is there is nothing special at all about these "performance" models built on entry-level platforms. M235i/M2, CLA45, S3/RS3...they're all the same $29K cars they start out as and it makes no sense to try and make them perform. They don't even look good. Their target demographic are those who were going to buy a Subaru WRX but realized they can spend a little more per month.

But nothing against Audis. In fact, there's one in the driveway right now. Pardon the quick shity iPhone shot...if you haven't heard, it's mildly drizzling in the SF Bay Area.
They're built on entry level platforms so they're able to fit into the price bracket they're intended to fit in. The M3/M4 are also based upon a base platform that enables BMW to save costs. These cars would be well above $100,000 if they had to rebuild them from the ground up.

You must think its some sort of accomplishment to have to show off that the 435i is your "beater" car.

So what if someone wants a faster version of some "econobox"? And how much did you spend on your used R8 V10?

Then technically, wouldn't the R8 V10 be a tarded up version of the R8 V8? It seems like everything is tarded up versions of something to you, to included that V10.

When you question a guy with a superiority complex, you can bet he will have no problem running out in the rain to take a picture to prove himself to strangers on the internet.

It might be good for most, but for those that want "in-your-face" look have only Lexus as a choice, which is good but lacks performance compared to its look. The RS3 has no sleeper look either though.

Kenny, you can't be serious? 3350 lbs is very lightweight for an AWD Audi with 4 doors in this era. Isn't that less curb weight than the M3/M4 potentially even the M235i? They're all in the same ball park weight wise. If Audi is quoting 4.3s from 0-60mph, this thing is gonna be easily under 4 seconds because the RS5 is quoted as 4.5s by Audi and runs 3.9-4.0s in most tests.

Not at all. It's just a 435i. It was only in response to the claim of an RS3 being able to "show [a] 435i its taillights" as if the 435i was somehow my pride & joy and I would take offense to it.

Then more power to them. Your mistake was thinking I was passing judgement on the people who would buy them. And I don't buy used cars, but I paid a price I was happy with new from the dealer. Full disclosure, it was bought for and driven mostly by my fiance. She loves the way it looks and it's comfortable.

The correct use of the term is tarted. Yes, one can say the R8 V10 is a modified, snazzier version of the R8 V8. However, it was built from the ground-up as a performance platform...and you're really fishing for anything you can get.

I can go out and prove myself too but why should I? People who try to show their "status" just makes me turn the other way and laugh. They are the ones that always want to be the center of attention for no reason.

BTW, if this does come here as a Wagon. I would have no problem owning one. Who would not want a Wagon that can hang/beat up on 2 door performance vehicles? This is for sure the best time to be a true car person with all the performance vehicles that are coming out and for damn good prices too. From the 1LE to the Chevrolet SS to the Z/28 and now the C7 Z06 (once you tune out GMs "nanny" tune).

Tarded, tarted, retarded, farted, marted whatever.....

I always liked hot hatch and Audi/VW makes some of the very best. I wish it would come to Canada as a hatch. I would debadge and make it a total sleeper. Problem is the price. If something like this does come to our shores it would be in the range of $60-$65k, this is based on what the GLA45 is selling for. Quite expensive for a compact car.
