Carplay IOS

Hi All

I have a F31 that does not Apple Carplay and did look into getting it retro fitted but found it to be expansive.

I have seen a few of these Carplay IOS/android adaptors you can get that plug into USB or use bluetooth/wireless and then work like Carplay

As anyone used them or know if they even work with BMW of my year etc...?

If your entertainment system is NBT Evo, iDrive 5/6 you can get CarPlay Activated quite easily, just buy a WiFi antenna from Amazon/Ebay, and a OBD cable to plug into laptop.

I did mine i think total was about £60.

PM me if you want a proper run down

I had ID6 retrofitted, and while expensive (£1300 with touchscreen) it has proven to be very worthwhile.

You can get an MMI box, or an Android screen instead.

+1 for the MMI box, not perfect but for £200 can't go too far wrong.
That being said, if you've only got a small screen you might be better off buying an android unit with it all built in. I've got a 10.25" screen from an X5 and it's miles better than the smaller ones

I've got the 'Andream' box. They're basically all the same unit from SE Asia but different brand names.
There was a guy on the F30 Facebook group selling them

Edit - try this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-NBT-W...-127635-2958-0

The £200ish MMI was the way forward for me (Carplay + NBT). There is a forum here with a lot of details:
