F30 335i at Cars & Coffee Irvine 2/4/12
Spotted this gem sitting in the overflow lot. No one took notice!! Profile is definitely similar to the E90 but the front is pretty aggressive. Coral Red interior felt and looked fantastic. Interior quality was excellent! Fit and finish was almost on par with a F10 5 series. Very quiet car on idle. Apparently the car was at Laguna Seca the day before doing some hot laps. Besides the TT-RS, this was the easter egg of the show. Here are some Iphone 4 photos, will upload some high res later. The guy said no more 335d for this body style
F30 spotted again at Irvine Spectrum by coincidence TT-RS GT3 RS 4.0 No stripes

In person it's more subtle, but trust me it's a pretty handsome car!

That's the same car noted in the "white" thread that stopped by Steve Thomas BMW in Camarillo yesterday. Same license plate. Who is this guy??? I want him to stop by MY place!!!

Hood line erased with PS
I can totally imagine the hood line being less annoying in person.
But after photoshopping it out (along with the side marker light), and seeing how much better the white looks, I can't get over the frustration lol.. |

Yea, I did a little photoshopping of the line over here too. I don't buy the pedestrian excuse thing because Audi just redesigned their A4 front end and it contains no hood line.

He works for Autoblog and was testing it for a couple of weeks. I actually met up with him and saw the same car yesterday at a local OC race shop. Cool guy...cool car!

Definitely looks better without the hoodline. I really don't like the lighter colors with that hood line. Really destroys the look of the white cars.

I personally also like what impact it makes to have that side marker/reflector removed.
Offtopic: Perhaps a stupid question but why do all US cars have it? I mean, sure, it's probably the law (although I wouldn't know for sure lol) but what's the added value? Also, do you think it's removable (without leaving any damage and such)? |

Svache: It's probabbly for the same reason as Airplanes are required to have the green lights on their right wing and red on the left one...
for indication purpose at night, which way the car is heading ... etc.. anyways, i just caught an F30 out in the street for the first time... with my own eyes... it was on Lake Forest street heading from the hills down to the 5 I just came back from lunch, and i saw a Modern Line 328i Imperial Blue in the vacinity area of Lake Forest, it might be heading to Irvine BMW or Crevier BMW .... the car looks nice, but to the untrained eyes, no one would notice or even give it a second look it in the street... it looks just like any other BMWs... I like that...

no it didn't take me a while, i saw it and i paused for half a second, because shock and surprised to be seeing one going the opposite way to me...
i didn't expect it, ... and instead of continuing to go back to work... i made a U-turn and followed the car for a few miles... taking the long way back to work LOL i couldn't mistake it, because i have been looking at F30 pictures all day long, everyday... and the instant i saw it incoming the other way four lanes accross, i knew it was the F30.... thanks to its aggressive face! Could not mistake it for the bloated E90, nor the bigger F10 (softer face) When i passed the driver of the F30, i gave him the thumb up! :P and he acknowledged!

Ha ha, taking the long way home......I suspect that way will be longer once you take delivery of your car.
I can't wait to see a F30 on the road or at a dealer, much less test drive one. |

I should add that the car seems to be very light and very willing to drive fast... on two occasion, while i was chasing it, the 328i took off quite fast and easily... a fast 328i without breaking a sweat !
